Naiad Soap Arts: Sugar Whipped Soap

Naiad Soap Arts Sugar Whipped Soap was another goody from my Soap Box order. This scrub is made of a finely milled sugar that gives a soft exfoliation. The grains dissolve quickly into a nice milky foam. The texture is finer than The Bathing Garden scrubs. This could be an every day use scrub. In fact I even used it on my face with good results.

I am not a fan of bakery scents in most body care. The almond biscotti scent is very well done, I would very much like it in a tart, but not as a personal fragrance. The scrub itself was nice enough for me to look into Naiad's alternate scents. Do you use scrubs? What types of scents do you avoid?

Look for some waxy posts starting Sunday. World Without End by Ken Follett has me enraptured. He has reeled me back into Kingsbridge. I finally have a book I don't want to put down back in my possession. Gotta love a $0.50 library find.

  1. Funny to see this post because I was going to recommend a Naiad sale to you the other day but then thought no, you might be feeling like "STOP!" with all the 'Try this! Try this!' lol

I have not tried this vendor. At least I don't think I have? *thinks hard* But I do get the newsletter and am always 'Ooooh!'ing over the colorful mini jars of scrubs. I go through phases with scrubs. Sometimes I love them, sometimes I can't be bothered to use them. Gentle enough for the face is intriguing to me though.

    1. Never too much recommending! I would rather know and be able to browse than be in the dark :-) just flexing that will power muscle. LoL I do enjoy scrubs. But I have had a few yucky ones. This one is really nice and soft. Naiad will be repurchased for sure.

    2. Deb, do you remember Warm Woods? I had heard about Erin looking for product testers and I think she sent you that soap for feedback. I need to get out more, my memory is too good.

    3. Oh yeah! I had to go look back on the blog to remember but now I do. I kept thinking I'd tried something of hers but then told myself no, that I was remember those Amanthia (?) samples. Huh, guess I have tried Naiad!! lol

  2. I like some bakery scents for body care - vanilla is my fave, but only as a soap or lotion not perfume (someone gave me a vanilla perfume gift once -- did not smell right!!!!). :-) Currently, I've been using a tea tree oil scrub & lotion on my feet -- supposed to help dry, rough skin. It doesn't smell the greatest, reminds me of a clean minty aroma. I like it, it leaves my feet feeling cool & refreshed!! :-)

    1. Ooooo!! Tea tree oil foot scrub sounds refreshing! I love the way mint and tea tree and eucalyptus makes my skin tingle. The cool feeling is especially nice during the hot summer weather we have been having down here. Do you remember what brand it is Tricia?

    2. Funny, I have a soap version that is pretty similar. I reach for mint at the height of summer too. Arcana's single note peppermint soap is the most tingly I've used, I would still be tingling on my way to work in the morning. :)

    3. I have a weakness for all things minty <3 That soap is jumping straight to the top of my wish list Jean.

    4. If you're eyeing the first one, I'm happy to split my bar with you, if you'd like. I'm the only handmade soap user in my house and my BG stash is begging to be used faster. I have the floral spa bar also, I was going to send a sample to replace the missing package the day they resurfaced! lol.

    5. Just to add - I notice more of the coolness with the scrub but the lotion is great for rough skin (I'm barefoot a lot so my feet are rough!). :-)

    7. I'm sure you've already browsed the Paintbox cleansing scrubs at TSBC, they have a sugar cookie dough consistency that I like, the granules are not as finely ground as it sounds like they are in the Naiad scrub. Scentwise it's been hit or miss for me, I like the Olive Tree the best. Just noticed a mint eucalyptus one. Heima sorbetto

  3. I tend to agree about bakery scents in body care...I don't want to attract flies because I smell like donuts! There are notable exceptions, like vanilla or just a sugar scent in general, but stuff like cakes or cookies are sort of weird. This seems like a nicely textured product! The fact that you even used it on your face with good results is extremely intriguing. I tried to use TBG's scrub on my face many years ago, and it just about took my skin clear off because I scrubbed too hard! :O Thanks for sharing!

    1. Attracting flies! Lol! I was melting so much Granma's Crack bread a year ago that I had a few people tell me I smelled like a bakery. Ummm... No please. TBG face scrub! Yikes! Hopefully it wasn't minty Sleepy! Stinging and cuts! I have a funny/hurting too much exfoliation post coming soon. I was over enthusiastic with the scrubbies too. :-/
