Butterfly Lane Scents

Melissa opened again for RTS (ready to ship) at Butterfly Lane Scents so I popped over to claim a few. This time around she went dye free on the wax. Unfortunately, none of the scent shots are coming out of the cups this time. I only had one like that last order. I noticed Sunnee at Fragrance Obsessed had the same issue and mentioned the freezer. She was right, into the freezer they went for a few minutes and all came out nicely.

Apple Bliss- Cheery, red candy coated Macintosh apples. Deep scarlet and shining like a jewel in the candy shop window. No spice.

Mountain Cider- Cinnamon broom! In the guise of a wax bundt cake. I buy a cinnamon broom every year in September and use it as a witch's broom propped by the front door for Halloween. This scent reminds me of that tradition. There is the merest hint of apples and fruit but the cinnamon by far is the star.

Marshmallow Lemon Custard- Lemon meringue pie. A base of tartly sweet, thick lemon custard, crowned with a pile of fluffy white whipped marshmallows. Smells exactly like its moniker.

Caramel Covered Marshmallow- Caramel so decadent it crosses into butter brickle territory. The marshmallow folds in gooey vanilla scent into the caramel.

Mountain Moonspice- My favorite! Celtic moonspice. A comfy cozy sweatpants and quilt and tea and book on a rainy day scent for me. Cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and spices that enfold the home.

Key Lime Cupcake- The tart lime yogurt hint of Key Lime Pie. The cupcake portion has an elusive almond scent. I was not sure until I smelled the next one.

Peppermint Cupcake- Lovely white peppermints with the barest touch of almond bakery.

Pink Sugar Cake- Pink sugar and white cake. The cake gives it an almost dry crunchy vanilla cookie aroma. Loving Butterfly Lane's Pink Sugar blends.

Free Samples! They melted a bit, but it was 98 degrees when they were delivered.

Apple Pie- Baked Red Delicious apple slices smothered in brown sugar and cinnamon glaze.

Cookie Shoppe- Oatmeal butter cookies, but a little strange. Not liking it on cold but will melt to discover if it morphs at all.

Banana Cream Pie- Banana Runts, Banana Laffy Taffy, banana candy. With Cool Whip.

Melissa has re-poured and will be opening her site again sometime this weekend for RTS wax. If Buttercream Crunch is on there I will be one happy lady. Have a great Friday! Holiday weekend! Yea Yuh! Currently reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I am enjoying it. Lots of vendors restocking this weekend. Anyone looking forward to an order? I really would like more hair conditioner from FuturePrimitive, as I am almost out.

  1. Cinnamon broom? Where does one buy these scented broomsticks? I was just looking at a decorating blog last night that had a DIY project featuring a scented broom. And now you've mentioned them. Maybe I just don't notice them in stores because I never knew about them or had need of them.....?

As for orders, only that small fall must-haves order from Sweet Fixations in the works for me.

  2. These all sound delightful!! I already have all my September orders planned out, but perhaps October will bring a BL order! I have a small custom Sugar and Spice order coming today that I am super excited about! She has such amazing wax and I'm so glad she's open full time again. I'm extremely pumped about VCS' opening this weekend, I'm setting an alarm this time so I don't forget! Have a great weekend Julie <3

    1. Oooo! Planning orders by month. I like that. I think that would help me prioritize who I want to order from instead of going down random rabbit trails... "Ooo! Look at that vendor! Ooo! What do they have?!" Lol And I can put it in my new planner! Waxy notes! Hope you have a great weekend too Jacqui! May it be long and lovely!

  3. Butterfly Lane <3. Such a great vendor. Crazy about the wax not coming out of the cups, though! There have been a few in my time melting that have almost taken off fingers because they wouldn't budge!

Mountain Moonspice is soooooooo good! Can't wait to get more of it. Wow, Mountain Cider sounds so, so good. Cinnamon broom, wow, great description! I love those things in the fall! Apple pie sounds delish. Mmmmm, fall is coming so soon!

Glad you're liking the book! Gotta read that one! :)

    1. I like that BL can be generous with the spice sometimes.

Thank you god the book! I enjoyed the story. It had an angel/chimaera plot that was different.

  4. I forgot you ordered again after the initial reopening! It didn't dawn on me until I realized this haul was all colorless wax.
I'm obsessed with getting a cinnamon broom this year. Good to hear that they are strong ...I think. ;)
I'm keeping my eye out for BL tomorrow and want to place an order with S&S as well. Still thinking about TBG and gotta keep an eye out for my sneaky boyfriend who likes to stock in the middle of the night. <3

    1. Cinnamon brooms are so fun for me. Beware, they can be a little messy, leaving twigs and little sticks where you put it.
Beezy! Do you predict a Beezy restock in the near future? S&S has not seem me since the spring brittle mixing I did. Her pumpkins in the fire is a favorite of mine.
