Ten Digit Creations

Ten Digit Creations pulled a quickie order from me after I was bemoaning lack of sophisticated smelly smells to my buds (this was pre-Alamo Candelaria discovery). Deb and Jacqui simultaneously said "Ten Digit!" Super sonic turn around time, simplistic design, affordable prices, and huge scent list comprise the many benefits of a Ten Digit Creations order. I chose the 13 tart sampler package, normally $16.25, on sale for $12.00. (It still is as of today). The following includes the vendor scent description as well as my thoughts in italics.

Gypsy Magic- an ancient collection of sage leaf, cedar, cinnamon, and clove enveloped in herbeous rosewood, myrrh, frankincense and musk. "Did you shrink that man gypsy?"- Jeremy Clarkson BBC TopGear. Gorgeous scent. Not spicy at all. Musk, myrrh and gentle incense comprise the gist of the Gypsy's magic.

Angels' Blood- earthy aroma composed of myrrh, patchouli, rosewood, sandalwood and musk. Earthy is apt, a slight soapiness that is pleasant. Angel's Blood smells like the restricted section of the Hogwart's library, ancient yet frequented by Filch's mop.

Black Widow- warm patchouli, spicy cinnamon, creamy vanilla, and musk with a whisper of jasmine. Feminine, cozy, deceptively serene. Vanilla heavy patchouli dangling from a fang.

Black Magic- rose, lavender, spice, patchouli, and vetiver. Smells identical to the popular potpourri by Claire Burke, a spicy cinnamon glazed rose, aging and sweet with rich, burgundy petals.

Rosewood Amber- rosewood, black amber, sandalwood and musk. Stunned, in awe, completely enamored... how much so? After inhaling this scent, my fingers danced to TDC's website and immediately ordered more. Immediately. The rose and amber make such a simple and sophisticated marriage.

Sandalwood Rose- warm sandalwood, soft rose, and sheer musk. This comes off like a high end sunscreen, the creaminess of the sandalwood imparts a coconut mirage. Beautiful scent.

Sandalwood Cardamom- sensual romantic blend of sandalwood and cardamom. Lovely, the cardamom is spicy with fennel and a touch of resin.

Lavender Vetiver- lavender, vetiver, musk, and sandalwood. Pungent herbal lavender colored with shades of bitter green grass, chlorophyll dripping from a pestle as they are crushed into one another.

Patchouli Passion- crushed patchouli leaves with a hint of citrus, neroli, sandalwood and musk, drizzled with agave nectar. This particular scent I picked up on Jacqui's recommendation. I am so glad I did! This is a far cry from traditional "head shop" or "dirty hippie" patchouli (which I do enjoy those too). The citrus and neroli add a light Mediterranean cologne note that transforms this into a refined home fragrance.

Peppercorn Spice- exotic blend of orange, peppercorn, rich spices, and dark woods. Sharp, green and black peppercorns and clove studded pomanders all strewn on a rustic reclaimed pine wood table, ready for guests and loved ones to celebrate. Tangy, spicy and sweet.

Basil Sage & Mint- soothing blend of fresh basil, herb sage, and cool mint. Clarifying scent, opens the sinuses and mind. Just a tad heaviest on the sage that feels like a lamb's ear rubbed between your thumb and forefinger. Herbaceous mint (not candied peppermint) and a smooth non-peppery basil balance this spa like scent nicely.

Blue Christmas- orange peels, cloves, fir needles, and cinnamon. The fir needles on the tree in the corner are post-Christmas frenzy. Browning, drying, crunching on the floor. The pomanders in a bowl are almost over ripe. The cinnamon bark beside them, fading and brittle. It is indeed a blue Christmas. At first I sniffed out a lemon ginger ale vibe. My husband got old Christmas tree. There is something going on that neither of us can pin point. Not bad, but just different.

Aspen Winter- White Barn "Winter" type with frosted fir needles, spicy cinnamon, bayleaf, and warm cedarwood. Oh how I love this fragrance. The duplication of this is marvelous! Almost a campfire smokiness amongst the pines, woods, and greenery. Simply fabulous!

Witche's Brew (free sample)- bewitching combination of sweet dark spices, tossed generously with intoxicating violets, and smokey dark patchouli. Add to the pot a pinch of resinous cedarwood entangled in a web of fiery cinnamon and sensual clove. Great scent description! Victorian Halloween fragrance. All black lace, crumbling bricks and spiced cider in a cast iron cauldron. I am saving this for Halloween night. Most excellent. >insert chilling cackle and rubbing of hands<

My two nostrils love these Ten Digits. Double high fives.

  1. Yay Julie, so glad you enjoyed your TDC order!! Their tarts are definitely not as strong as some, but I don't need my patch and sandalwood scents blowing me out of house and home so they are perfect for me with those kind of scents. Glad you liked Patchouli Passion!! I love CFTKR's Aspen Winter, I'll have to try TDC's too! TDC's Ozark Forest is my favorite pine scent ever, probably. I'm going to get a 4 pack of it for winter fo sho.

    1. Thank you Jacqui for the recs! I agree, a beautiful wisp of these types of scents go a long way in creating a cozy atmosphere. Ozark Forest sounds like my kind of scent. Pines and firs and resinous evergreens are my favorite in winter.

    2. I disagree that they aren't as strong as some. I have found them to be the strongest tarts of any company behind BH&G...and as strong as Front Porch.

    3. Hi Anonymous! Yes there are very strong scents within the TDC range. I am finding that they are one of my go-to vendors. There are a few lighter scents, just as there are within each and every wax company. Some scents just tend to be lighter by nature. BHG and FP do have awesome throws as well! What are some of your favorite TDC scents? Hope you have a great day.
