Vintage Chic Scents: Romeo & Juliet

Pink and red hearts abound, all the Valentine's pretties have emerged. Kirby chose a Romeo & Juliet  theme this most recent restock and quite a few of her new blends had my waxy antenna quivering. I must say posting photos of Leo and Claire in my most favorite R & J rendition helped too. Oh, yes, and the photos of her new rose shapes.

When she opened, I was ready and clicking. Despite my promptness I still missed her wildberry and coconut cream pie blend, Young Hearts Run Free, I believe. But I did land a Blossom Bag ($9.35) in Lucy & Ethel and a Flower 3-Pack ($3.80) in Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow.

Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow- Is a blend of jasmine, sandalwood and teas, which I knew I had to obtain. This blend is even better than I had imagined. The tea, sweetened by a bit of honey, sings alongside the light airy jasmine and soft mellow sandalwood. No heaviness in this fragrance, just pure honey gold sunlight. Blossom Bag worthy (or even Bombshell Bag- her newest, largest size of 16 ounces). These new shapes from VCS are so very chic and elegant. LOVE them!

Lucy & Ethel- This fragrance is a blend of pistachio marshmallow coconut cream pudding. Deb loves this blend so I usually send her any I stumble upon (and of course will send another piece her way) but I cannot remember melting any for myself so I decided to remedy that situation. On cold, the aroma exudes creamy cherry almond delight. Warmed, it throws strong and for several hours, the same creamy cherry almond scent.

Free Samples in:

Come On Get Happy- An Italian Cake Dessert topped with Strawberry Glaze and Cream Cheese Frosting according to VCS description. The strawberry is ultra sweet and candy leaning; combined with the cake and frosting, it creates a strawberries and cream effect.

Elm Street- A secret blend between VCS and Tiffany Candles, I smell mostly caramel coffee bakery, so rich it has a chocolate suggestion.

Overall, I am very happy with my Vintage Chic Scents order. She is planning her next restock with more Romeo & Juliet on Saturday the 24th, anytime between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm EST.

I could not resist the festive love celebration that flooded the Dollar Tree recently. I picked up some simple decorations and lots of paper heart doilies. I use these each year to write one thing I love about the girls and Adam. I tape it to their door each morning starting February the 1st until Valentine's Day. It is a simple act of love that I found on Pinterest. Do you have any Valentine's traditions? One family I know has a BBQ dinner that night with fancy wine glasses and candle light. Savanna's birthday tends to take center stage that day but it just makes it all the more celebratory!

  1. I do indeed love that scent! I don't think I have any left in my finally-starting-to-dwindle stash.

I used to decorate a bit for Valentine's Day but the last several years I haven't even bothered. Hubby and I don't even get each other anything anymore, not even a card.

    1. Yay! Love hearing that your stash is shrinking! Would it be shrinking quicker if your warmers weren't being wonky?

Adam and I don't do anything for Valentine's either, other than me doing the heart thing and maybe a card. Savanna is our best Valentine gift. Can't too that, so why try? :-)

    2. Yeah, I think if the warmers were behaving I'd probably be going through more, but I also think I've slowed down a bit now because I'm mainly left with Rosegirls and I hate cutting wax. I also hate wasting by throwing such big chunks, so it's either cut them or avoid using them. lol

I did cut up a bunch several nights ago, so melting has picked up again now that I can just reach into the stash box, grab and go. =)

    3. I get that way too. When I get the urge I will grab a box of Glitterati and RG pie slices and muffins and get to cutting. I am not a fan of cutting as I melt. Too lazy most of the time! You are down to some good stuff!!

  2. Love your decoration! it looks very festive on the door. :)

Her new shapes are very, very cute! She always comes up with the coolest blends, and Parting sounds incredible! I don't care for Elm Street that much as I did get sort of a strange note from it. Glad you liked your order! :)

    1. Thanks! Really simple but I wanted something to hang so these were it.

You know I was a teeny bit bummed the one sample was Elm Street too. I am getting funny about too rich bakery though. And any suggestions of chocolate are usually frowned upon by my nose. But free samples are always nice and I am thankful I can maybe brighten someone else's day with it.

  3. Absolutely love how the hearts hang at an angle. :)

Also loving the new shapes from VCS. Always improving, that Kirby ;)

    1. Thank you! I was worried it looked silly but Savanna said she liked how they pointed into the office like " walk this way please" and that made me laugh.

Kirby does keep striving and improving and that is very admirable. I like the new shapes a lot.
