FuturePrimitive Soap Co.: La Vie en Rose

La Vie en Rose in foreground.

After bathing with this periwinkle beauty a few times, trying to grasp what it was conveying to me, I decided she is shy at exposing her heart. Yes, I am personifying a soap. But my love for smelly beautiful creations gives birth to thoughts just like that. I appreciate them, I blog about them, I will be weird about them.

The formula feels silky as it lathers and  cleans nicely. Amazing FuturePrimitive quality as expected. The scent embodies feminine wiles. Smooth pink rose petals, soft violet scented vintage cosmetics, and a dark mysterious base that lurks under all. The labdanum really keeps this fragrance from being too pretty and ladylike. It gives her a sly cut to the eye. If I could purchase this scent as an alcohol based perfume, I would buy a full bottle straight away.

And Adam would be happy, because I would smell like a woman.

  1. She sounds very lovely! It cracks me up how we like our musky manly smells. It's nice to smell lovely too. It just mixes things up a bit :)

    1. We do!!!! I love them all honestly. Gimme those smelly smells. Lately I have been making more if an effort to smell girly. He complimented me to other day when I was wearing Caligna so that was cool. He did buy those brown shoes I had been begging him to try on for years so I should in return, smell like a girl once in a while.

  2. Pfft, smelling like a 'woman'? What's this 'woman' you speak of?!
I know what you mean. My go-to scent is an Adidas type 'perfume' that to me screams 'I'M GOING TO GO TO THE GYM AND LIFT HEAVY THINGS, GRRRRRR.' Michael likes it, just not so much when we're trying to go out and have a romantic date :)
This sounds like a perfect thing for me to try once I've used up all the soap I've stockpiled. Seriously, I'm ashamed of how much of a hoarder I've turned into >_<

    1. Lol Liz! Normally I don't care and in fact even wear "men's cologne" frequently (Dior Homme mmmmmmmm) And much like Michael, Adam tolerates it but loves feminine watery florals on me. My least favorite genre. :-/

I keep waiting for it to get out if control but I only have about 5 bars on back up. Not bad huh?

  3. haha... I love that you personify her!! and I'm not sure what it says about me that I didn't think it was weird until you pointed it out... lol
I have been leaning toward florals undertones lately... I think my soul is ready for spring! I put on Coach Poppy Wildflower this morning.. and then stepped outside to 40 degree weather.. perhaps I should return to my deep scents.. lol

    1. A lighthearted floral is nice to have on hand. I bet you smell lovely today! Bring spring to you. I like wearing or melting the random unseasonal piece of scent now and then to mix it up. :-) you remind me that I need to sample Poppy Wildflower.

    1. They are so pretty. I have them lined up on the shelf in the bathroom so to see them. I should give them pet names. Or maybe that is taking it too far....
