The Soap Box Company: Naiad Island Gardenia Sugar Whipped Soap

The Soap Box Company is a fabulous place from which to order handmade bath and body products. Jo, the owner, has built in a rewards program, allows free sample choice options, sends out newsletters with giveaway drawings for subscribers (subscribe!) and draws for giveaways if you review products you have purchased. Jean pointed that last one out to me. That is where this baby comes in...

After reviewing a few previous purchases, my name was drawn! When your name is drawn, Jo sends you an item of her choice from your Wish List. I have several things on my Wish List so I was excited to find out what she would pick. It was Naiad Soap Arts Island Gardenia Sugar Whipped Soap. So glad I put this on my list!

I loved my last sugar whipped soap from Naiad, but was not crazy about the scent. This time the both are just right. Island Gardenia embodies a breezy mixture of tuberose, gardenias, greenery and milky coconut. Their scent description includes lemon too and no tuberose or greenery, this is just my personal interpretation. It embodies the same great texture, gentle exfoliation, cleansing and skin softening properties as the previous scent I tried. I plan on going back for more in numerous scents.

Do you exfoliate with scrubs? If so, do you prefer sugar or salt? Do you like foaming soap built in or the oil based scrubs?

  1. That is very cool that she does giveaways if you're active with reviews, and even more cool that she chooses from your wish list instead of giving away some old thing that isn't selling anyway. I like that! It encourages site participation.

I go through phases with scrubs. Most times I can't be bothered, but every once in a while I'm madly in love with them. I prefer sugared soapy type of scrubs.

    1. I was appreciative of the Wish List pick too. Very nice!

I am thinking I lean towards sugar soapy scrubs too. A salt one is nice once in a while but never after shaving! Ouch! I always forget how nice they feel on the face and neck too. I tend to head straight to the appendages with them.

    2. Congrats again! This scent sounds lovely. I didn't see anything about a winner picked this month so maybe she will take a break for a while. I'm glad she just announced another perfume vendor to replace Arcana, I wasn't sure if she was going to remain in business and hope for the best for her.

Did you end up trying the Paintbox Dead Leaves mini scrub by the way? I liked the smoke note. Have a good Friday!

    3. I used it all up!! I absolutely loved it and plan on purchasing a Paintbox scrub or two from TSBco in the future. Especially with shorts season around the corner. Thank you for sharing some awesome vendors and goodies!

    1. Thanks Sunnee! I think you might like this scent. It feels like a beautiful Cali/Florida summer day. Sweet, feminine, tropical. I could see you wearing this.

  3. Congrats! That looks amazing to me -- both the product and the scent. I tend to like my scrubs and soap separate, but I used to be obsessive about Lush's Ocean Salt (now that I'm older, I think it's too hard for me). I guess Ocean Salt isn't really a soap per se, but I used it as such on my face whenever I used it. I will have to check this shop out. Thanks for the rec!

I am obsessed with the Bathing Garden's sugar scrubs. I also make my own sugar scrubs, and well as salt scrubs. I love making them as gifts for the holidays, too. Easy and fun!

    1. Ocean Salt and Rub Rub Rub are really nice. Especially in the summer and on my feet.

The Bathing Garden scrubs have such an amazing texture. I have gone through loads. I keep waiting to but more though. Waiting on Gardenia Coconut Cream <3

Scrubs as handmade gifts is such a great idea!
