Rosegirls: April Opening

My order from Rosegirl's April custom order opening arrived and as usual I am head over heels. This most recent custom order opening was projected to be a fast one, and it was. I think the site stayed open for a tiny handful of minutes before closing. Since everyone pretty much assumed it would be fast I decided to make the smallest, most efficient order I could. Plus my friend Ashley hopped on this one too so I had a few of her things in my order. Ultimately, I bought one bakery bag and five sets of custom blended muffins.

Did Somebody Say Frosting?!?! is a blend of cotton candy frosting, birthday cake, cream cheese frosting and vanilla bean noel. It is a nice blend but I think the cream cheese frosting is keeping me from loving it. It was not overly sour but it did have a slight milky twang I am not too keen on. I melted a chunk split between two warmers and it threw a medium strength aroma. I think I will save this bag for a future giveaway. I can see it being a huge hit for many people. The bakery bags run $10 each for about 8-9 ounces of wax.

Apple Puff Pastry, Celtic Moonspice, Hot Apple Pie is a blend I wanted to try after loving a very similar muffin blend from Muffin Club last year. It is so lovely and spicy! Apples, cinnamon and pie crust. It leaves me craving a homemade apple pie. Soon. Must wait until September. The muffins come four to a set, cost $14, and are the cheapest blending option.

Rosegirl's Garden, Raspberry Sauce, Vanilla Bean Noel sends my eyes rolling in ecstasy. The rose and raspberry blend really nicely. Almost like Rose Jam from Lush but a more realistic rose instead of candy. The Vanilla Bean Noel as the overpour keeps the roses in check and makes it into a creamy elegant dessert.

Peppermint, Spearmint, Swizzle Sticks had to be blended. It was just begging to be blended. And I was running out of minty delights. This is pure heaven for my nostrils. The peppermint and spearmint get a hefty dose of sweet from the Swizzle Sticks. I was often curious as to what Swizzle Sticks smelled like on its own and thanks to Jacqui, I am able to smell it. My nose translates it as a candied vanilla. No bakery at all. More like a vanilla drizzle icing or homemade clear vanilla bean lollipop. It is down right delicious. I will be blending more with this scent in the future.

Mandarin & Mimosa, Strawberries & Cream, American Cream came from the idea that American Cream according to Lush is "supposed" to have notes of strawberry and orange milkshake though I never get that. So I decided maybe I could up the strawberry and orange milkshake ante by adding these scents. As an American Cream fanatic I adore it, but I could see how it wouldn't be for everyone. Since American Cream is the overpour, it hits the loudest. But the mandarin and strawberries add a nice fruity kick in American Cream's musky perfumy pants. American Cream and Sugared Jasmine go beautifully together too in case you are a fan like me. And it goes well with pink marshmallows too.

Cotton Candy Frosting, Gilligan's Brew, Sweet Lavender because I can NEVER have enough lavender. Looking back I wish I would have done Swizzle Sticks instead of Cotton Candy Frosting, but that was before I knew what it smelled like solo. This remains an excellent blend, however. Creamy sweet and calming, perfect for night time.

My free sample was So Fresh, So Clean which kinda smells like eucalyptus and Singing in the Rain. I love it. Ashley ordered Petey Colada, Angels Among Us, and a custom muffin blend in Black Cherry, Wild Mountain Honey, and Twilight Woods. I gave her the other sample chunk in Pumpkin Macchiato.

Jenny and her crew have been pumping out the orders from April's opening. There should be another sampler lottery soon too. Did you order during April's opening? Are you planning on ordering during the next? I think I am going to save my money and go with pies next go 'round.

  1. I skipped the last opening, but I'm looking forward to finally melting some of the fall scents from the Muffin Club opening before that. Now that fall is just around the corner, those lovely blends are finally going to get their day! =)

    1. Yes! Yes they are!!! I have been saving mine too. They quietly wait and beckon with crooked fingers in my fall basket. I sorted my apples, cinnamons and ciders. They are ready for the first day of school to start melting! August 24th!

    2. I sorted mine the other day too. I have all my apples and 'lighter' fall scents ready to go! I work on the 24th so I can't join you in the fall kickoff, so I'll either start Aug. 20/21, or the 25th. =)

    6. I think I have Dessa's Harvest Festival but I don't see it in my early-fall-apples-and-such bunch that I have set aside. The RG Ooey Gooey Caramel/Toffee Apple Crunch/Dunk My Donut is there though. Should we start with that?

  2. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous!
Love your muffin blends--I enjoyed the apple puff pastry from the muffin club too.
I hope Ashley loves her order as well--looks like the delivery was just a hair too late for an in person exchange, although RG is always worth the wait in my eyes. ❤️

I was silently hoping it would come in time for me to bring them over with me too but it's all good. Gave me an excuse to mail her some thank you gifts for putting up with me for a week! Lol! I totally agree, RG is always worth the wait. Xoxo

    1. The options are endless Marie! I have a two page list of blends I want to try eventually but money and time end up paring it down drastically. I get so much joy out of blending! It is a fun challenge. :-) here's wishing us both the great fortune to get a stellar order in next opening! <3
