This teeny 1.25 ounce bar of wax threw like a champ! A festive strong blend of apple cider, sweet mellow spices and a golden nectar vibe. I split this between two warmers and it did great. The longevity was a tad short at about 3-4 hours, but for $0.93 it just could not be beat. I will definitely buy Mainstays Mulled Cider again. I preferred the cold throw of this over the Better Homes & Gardens version.
I am thrilled to see this little Mainstays review! I've been really impressed with the falls scents from the Mainstays line this year. This Mulled Cider has been favorite of all cider scents I've had this fall. I already grabbed another to have on hand, and will probably grab more as the season winds down, just to have for next year.

I was excited to melt it! I am going to go wild and melt a whole clamshell in each warmer next time since I tend to melt 1-2 oz anyway. And at this price it won't break my wax budget. Maybe I can get to Walmart today or tomorrow. I feel ya. This scent is definitely worth stocking up on!!!
DeleteThanks for the review! Did you use the whole bar at once in one warmer? I'm melting BHG Simmering Apple Cider today. I ordered it online and all the tarts I ordered online seem to not be throwing as strong as the ones I purchased in store. I wonder why? It still has ok throw, just not the beast throw I'm used to from BHG. At least it was super cheap; 5 packs for $6! I used to avoid Mainstays wax for weak throw, but I feel like they've stepped up their game recently. The banana nut bread is good, and I enjoy the rose, strawberry lemonade, and hazelnut creme. The blueberry pancakes and maple glazed donuts 3-wicks are amazing!
ReplyDeleteNo, I split it between two warmers but next time I will definitely use one per warmer! Oh no! Poor throw stinks. I wonder if the online versions are older? Different formula/supplier for that BGH wax? Mainstays really has!!! I am excited to get more. I hope you are having a great weekend Amanda!
DeleteLove, love, love Mulled Cider from Mainstays. I bought about 5 of their candles many years ago to give to people as gifts and they were a huge hit! I don't know if they still make them in 3-wick anymore, but I'll hunt down these cubies next time I'm at Wally World!
