Bath and Body Works: Peace Candle... and real life nightstands.

Let us get the obvious out of the way first shall we? I am not always a neat person. In fact, I am rarely a neat person. My OCD tendencies (of which there are many) do not always translate into tidiness. So in the effort of transparency I am photographing my nightstand as it is.... right now... in much disarray. Can you even find the candle? Is this a fire hazard? Why do I need so much lotion and nail polish? These questions may never get answered.

Peace is a pleasant nightstand candle. A nice small room candle, where it can bloom to about a medium throw. I imagine in a larger room it would not be as evident. This scent pooled wonderfully in about an hour of burn. The wicks strong, creating a vibrant flame. Peace smells of vanilla woods and a ghost of embers. A beautiful alternative for those who think Fireside is too fiery. I would repurchase this candle.

My husband's nightstand. His OCD manifests itself into cleanliness and orderliness. Like items stacked nicely. No extraneous things except for a note from one of his daughters. How he can tolerate the chaos of my side of the bedroom is a mystery but one I shall not delve into because I am extremely grateful.

Ugh. I seriously need to clean up my act. You don't even want to see my clothes pile on the floor.

  1. I love this post! Keepin' it real. =)
Some of the 'pro' YouTubers I watch always have immaculate rooms in the background and I always wonder if they really keep their homes that way or do they shove it all out of site when they film? 'aLoveTart' admitted recently that she pulls her colorful bedspread and pillows things down to the floor on the unseen side of the bed on filming days just to have the most empty and neutral background she can get.

    1. I had grand plans of cleaning it off, dusting and staging a cute little nightstand but a burst of realism hit me and I decided to let it all hang out in a fit of laziness and honesty. I often wonder about the bigger YouTubers like that Zoella chick who has the perfect bedroom. But some folks are naturally clean and minimalist. My mother-in-law could have spontaneous filming anytime and have an immaculate house in evidence. I think that is where Adam gets it.

    1. Lol! That reminds me of Signs. You are just prepping for a water-intolerant alien invasion. Heck, I stayed with you a week. You HAD to notice how messy I kept poor Daniel's room... And that was me trying to be tidy. lol!

  3. I'm just as bad about my space. I know where everything is. It's just not nice and neat. I have other things to do besides spend all of my free time cleaning up after myself! What's that? Laundry? Eh... I'll get to it eventually :)
I was going to pick up one of these candles at the $8.50 sale but decided against it since I'm trying to cut down on what I'm bringing with me over yonder. It smelled gorgeous though!

    1. Lol! As long as there are clean clothes still available who needs to do laundry?!

There were a couple I missed out on during the candle sale but I am glad I got this one. It just just plain pretty.

  4. Hahaha! I love the contrast of the two night stands. What a sweetheart that hubby does not go nutty over the state of your nightstand :) Like Adam, my ocd is all about orderliness. It really affects my mood if things are not clean and tidy in my home *crosses eyes*

    1. I can totally understand that need though. To be in a clean, clutter free environment is to be at peace. I could never reach hoarder status with stuff everywhere but I do struggle with maintaining neat areas.

  5. Love this! I fall more along the lines of your hunby's nightstand but Remy's is totally yours lol. Throughout our 8 years together, it is a constant struggle between his messiness and my OCD cleanliness lol. My car on the other hand...hot mess. I don't know what it is, my house is always clean but my car is a walking garbage truck. There is never not a layer of water bottles and other junk lining the floor of my car. Oh! That candle sounds fantastic! I do love my Fireside candle but this would be a nice, lighter alternative.

    1. You know it is really nice though that we each have spouses with opposite issues. Totally balances out! Adam doesn't like the way I load the dishwasher or fold the clothes and I don't care when he goes behind me to "fix" it. If we were both OCD about cleanliness but in different ways it might be a bad thing. "Socks MUST be rolled! No folded! No rolled!" GAH! Funny how we have certain areas that can be let go. I tend to be super neat at work in my office. And I am a stickler about things having a place.

I have been burning this bad boy all week. It is almost gone.
