Diptyque: Jonquille Candle

My very first Diptyque candle.

This came about in a random way. I hadn't lurked on Hautelook in a few years and I got the itch to check it out in boredom one day and an alert said that Diptyque would be featured the very next day. Well, hello nurse! Of course I made it a point to check in as soon as they were released and Jonquille was the only standard sized candle scent offered. So I scooped it up (for $30, normally $60), along with a set of two mini candles and a set of pine scented wax air fresheners (those were duds as general closet sachets, but worked well in my car until they melted in the FL heat- gross).

Jonquille is daffodil. It scented the living room beautifully for this springy time of year. It threw at about a medium-strong and brought to mind daffodils, tulips, hyacinths and a motley collection of bulb flowers, all in a riotous bloom. A veritable nosegay of spring. My cold sniff thoughts were not very favorable as it had a strong lilac tone but as it burned, it unfolded into a far more complex and lovely scent.

I am happy with this discounted purchase and will scope out Hautelook for these candles again. Do you have a favorite Diptyque?

  1. Hi there. Great deal on the Diptyque. My favs are Feu de Bois (smoky woods), Opoponax (Shalimaresque) and Tubereuse (lovely and bright). However I have not smelt them all (yet)!

    1. Hello Megan! I figured I could not go wrong no matter what the scent was. Thank you for the recommendations. I will jot them down and search them out. Thank you for popping over! I look forward to sending out your box Monday. Have a beautiful rest of the week!

  2. Girl. You need to stop posting about these fancy shmancy candles. You already got me more into perfumes than I ever thought possible! I don't need more things to spend my money on! XD

This sounds fantastic. I haven't been on Hautelook in several years. I'm scared to start looking again. LOL the more I look at stuff the more likely I am to spend money!

    1. Lol! Hey! It's my hobby ;-)

At least I got them on a deal. I just burned one of the minis too. Loved it! I haven't checked in on Hautelook again in a while but will try to pop on every once in a while. But yes, I noticed now that I browse the FB vendor groups less often, I buy less.

  3. Diptyque is a brand I'd never heard of until Scream Queens. I feel like I knew they were there, but thought they were called something else?? LOL. I've never used Hautelook, is it pretty reliable? This one sounds really lovely!

    1. "She only burns them once then throws then away!" I can guarantee that I will use mine up but that I will only buy them sparingly. There is a once a year warehouse type sale on Diptyques in NY. I hear it's pretty crazy.

Hautelook takes a little while to ship (like Zulily) but it is pretty reliable. I haven't had any issues.
