Lush Kitchen: Order 2

I placed this order a couple days after my first one. These took about three weeks to arrive. The shipping on small orders from the Lush Kitchen in the UK hovers around 7.95 pounds, or about $11.50 on average. This tiny order consisted of Ice Blue shampoo and Flying Fox shower gel.

Ice Blue utilizes spearmint and peppermint oils to stimulate the scalp. It smelled a lot like minty sweet Scope mouthwash and I did not detect any tell tale tingling sensations on my scalp. At least not at the level of say, Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo. I will certainly use it up but I probably will not repurchase. It ran $16.75 or there about.

Flying Fox is a lady of dubious background whose jasmine and honey laden potion comes across a bit skanky and naughty. She definitely is not a fox for everyone but my nose adores her. Needless to say I was bummed when she was discontinued, so as soon as I saw her in the Kitchen, I scooped her up. She cost $15.30ish. Flying Fox compliments Serge Lutens Fleurs d'Oranger very nicely.

Have you had any Lush duds or "shoooo-weeeeee" experiences? Do tell! And I won't be surprised if Flying Fox is in there ;-)

  1. My biggest Lush "dud" was their Sonic Death Monkey shower gel. I liked it in the bottle in the store but when I used it in the shower all I could smell was wet cigarettes. Blechhh...

    1. I heard Sonic Death Monkey is much sought after. In fact, my sister has been dying to get it. But wet cigs?! No thanks. I don't mind a tobacco smell but ashy burnt cigs is nast. I will pass this on to her. I had the Soak 'n Float shampoo bar and my husband hated it. Just laying in the shower it gave off mega campfire scent and he finally asked me to put it away. It was crazy strong.

  2. Flying Fox really is on my dud list!🙈 Just tried it for the first time in this last kitchen offering and decided it was not for me. I think it was the strong honey scent that did it. Sold it off immediately.
And speaking of Soak and Float... I've had scalp issues for a while and heard it worked wonders. I tried it twice and had to literally store it in about 5 zip lock bags in between uses. Couldn't bring myself to use it again so I gave it to my sister. I think it was the cade oil I couldn't handle, which unfortunately is what was supposed to help my scalp! :( I'm sure both are great products my nose just did not agree.

    1. Lol! And I can totally see why! That jasmine and honey combo is down right indolic. I would have bought her from you! <3

I tried to use it up as fast as possible but bought a tin to keep it in pretty fast. It is gone now and will not be bought again. But it did show me that I love their shampoo bars.

  3. Ro's Argan Body Conditioner! The smell is nothing like fresh roses -I seriously get a baby wipe note when I smell it- and the texture is just awful on my skin! I can't get it to absorb!
I made the mistake of joining a Lush group on Facebook and now I keep getting updates on the next Kitchen restock. Luckily I'm usually asleep when they restock so I miss out on anything that would tempt me to order. :)

    1. Lol! Well yeah it's a little weird but I fell in love with it. Especially during winter or after shaving. It smells like Rose Jam to me. Just creamier. I see a lot of cool things on the Kitchen link but rarely can/will buy. I try to hold out for things I really want. So far I have only places the two orders.
