Mirasol Farm: Soap Sampler

This arrived as a sweet surprise in the mail from Jean. She had mentioned that Mirasol Farm was a favorite Etsy soaper of hers and she thought I might enjoy experiencing them too.

Mirasol Farms operates out of Etsy and handcrafts their soaps organically, sometimes using wild grown ingredients, and essential oils. This sampler set is a great way to see which scents you would enjoy most for $10; your choice of scents. Jean either knows me very well, or I got the lucky random draw. I seriously adore every scent.

Lavender Patchouli marries the best of fresh steely lavender with deep brackish patchouli. This soap chunk lathered like thick velvet. Creamy suds. Using the bar directly on the skin provides a wonderfully scrubby experience with nice exfoliation. Not too rough, not too wimpy. I want a full sized bar in this.

Oak Moss smells ancient and wise, aged oaks drooping with the weight from centuries of moss colonizing among its branches. Strong, greenish bronze and alive. Once wet and lathered, a lemony sage aroma wafted up from the oakmoss. This one is less scrubby, with only a thinner exfoliating layer running through the soap like a ribbon. Great lather, nice rinse.

Rosemary Mint is my peacemaker. Crisp mint leaves, sweet spearmint leaves, and sprigs of rosemary make a head and soul clearing bouquet.

Rosewood Cardamom, if I could have a signature scent, rosewood would be the main note. The ghosts of roses on a sandalwood base are peppered with green cardamom. A romantic delight.

I want to use the last two as well but I also kind of want to save them and prolong my Mirasol Farm experience. I will be buying my own full bar from them very soon though. Thank you Jean for your generosity. I love these! Have you found any Etsy soap gems lately?

  1. Mirasol Farm! I love them! (And they're in Wisconsin.) Casey, of the Mirasol team, is one of the nicest ladies you'll ever encounter and she helped me sooooo much when I was getting going with my own soap shop way back then. I loved their sweet orange cream.

I'm happy to see you trying Mirasol!

    1. I saw that in the shipping and thought of you! Dang you Deb, you get all the fabulous wax and soap! I love that they are all natural. Sweet orange cream sounds like one Adam might enjoy. I love hearing they were helpful to you and willing to give another soaper a leg up! That is very generous. I am definitely hooked and you will see more Marisol Farms on here.

    2. I just saw that Casey sold the business, sigh. She decided to go into dog training.

    3. I'd seen some things that made me wonder, like mentions they are now Minnesota based, etc. That's kind of a bummer. I mean, if the new people stick with the same formulas and stuff it will still be nice but...bleah, it's just not the same.

    4. So was the set I got from the old owners or the new? I very much enjoyed them so if from the newer owners I am still down for buying from them.

    5. These were from the original owners, this development was in late May. It was what Casey did full time but it will be a side business for the new owners. It will likely be the same but I am guessing the full range of scents may not always be available but we shall see. The Etsy shop is now mirasolfarmorganics.

  3. Been a customer for years. Their soaps are the best. The lotions are also scented delicately and are not heavy. The lip balms are also quality and last long. The Intensive Lip Therapy is so soothing. I have bought and tried most, if not all, of their products and have yet to be disappointed.

  4. Well, I am glad I went with these when the mood struck! I picked out the scents but haven't tried the rosewood one yet, I will add that to my list! Cardamom is a note I like. I second Liz on the lip balm, I've tried many indie lip balms, most smell good and a few are effective and Mirasol's are both. If I didn't have so much body cream I would order theirs again too. :)

    1. You did FABULOUS!!! I love them all!! Thank you Jean. I love cardamom too and recently had it in some Swedish cookies and swooned. I will try the lip balms and lotions as well. I have ran out of most of my body butters except three: one HoG, one FP and one Bathing Garden. So I see an order approaching.
