Rosegirls: February Chunk Opening

Jenny at Rosegirls has been doing some cool things. I was seriously bummed about not being able to order customs anymore but her openings offering chunk blends by the bag has made up a lot for that disappointment. She has been offering samplers as well on a regular basis. February was the inaugrual chunk bag opening, showcasing about 12-15 scents all at $10 per bag. My bags ranged from 8.1 ounces to 9 ounces. In her Facebook group, Jenny has been posting the new scents that will be offered April 22nd via their website, linked above.

I only chose 3 bags because I am out of the fruity bakery kick again and sometimes I am not a fan of cereal scents and straight fruit blends I have to be in the mood for, my wallet was happy but I can already see a few on her next opening I want to try. Anyway, here were my three bags...

Love Is A Many Splendored Thing- A tropical and fruity blending of pink sands, honeydew and whipped cream. The honeydew and cream almost have a coconut milk vibe that is mellow and relaxing, while the pink sands dupe adds a touch of beachy florals that puts it squarely in my "love" category. A fantastic summer scent.

Hello, Gorgeous- A soothing blend of bergamot, lavender, peppermint, and pink sugar. Definitely a night time scent that will happily melt away by my bed on the nightstand, sending me into the sweetest of dreams. The bergamot adds just a hint of perfume that makes this blend more sophisticated than a typical lavender pink peppermint. The bergamot is not jarring or sharp, but beautifully melds the three other notes, quietly adding a dash of elegance. I wish I would have bought more than one bag of this beauty.

Wild Heart- Gardenia, soft vanilla and spring renewal (fresh floral with fruits). Fruity gardenia is what I mainly get from this blend, with a slight aquatic lean. Grapes are the majority of the fruity bounty with honeydew and cantaloupe and berries scattered about. It almost makes me think of drinking ultra sweet Boone's Farm Wine as a youth and having a fun night under the stars with night blooming flowers releasing their enchanting scent in the currents of the air.

I am very happy with my three choices. Jenny is constantly creating new and wonderful blends. I do hope she does a throw back release and includes some of the old house blends I have not seen for the past few years. I miss Americana Wafers, Cool Beans, Peppermint Coconut Mallow, Ooey Gooey Crackers and so many more. Did you buy this time? Are you buying in a few days? What is on your list?

  1. Hello Gorgeous has been quite the talk around town lately! I love that the bergamot is in there. Aren't we lucky to have hubbies that don't complain (too much) about our scents! <3

    1. It is so lovely and deserves all the talk! Yes, we are very blessed! Adam only complains if it is chocolate and says it smells like a wet dog in the house lol!!!

  2. I miss the old stuff too. I'm also wondering, with so many new blends all the time, whatever happened to the rosemary-lemon she was going to work on for us? (Was it rosemary-lemon?)

  4. Yummy! I can't remember what I ordered and I don't want to spoil it for myself so I'm not checking. I do know it's on its way, though! Squee! Hello Gorgeous sounds like a fantastic blend. I'm hoping that's one of the ones I picked up.

While I'm happy that they are cutting down on their TAT, I don't like being limited to the scents Jenny & team want to offer for any given opening. I feel like it'll make her limit the scents she offers to more popular blends and cut out some more experimental/'out there' scents.

    1. Sometimes I like to be surprised by what I ordered too. Other times I stare at the order invoice in anticipation!

I absolutely do still wish we could do customs. The chunks just cushion the blow.

  5. I *almost* ordered from this opening just for Love is a Many Splendored Thing (an old fave) but none of the other blends appealed to me. I can't really do much fruity bakery anymore, unless it is Nilla Strawberry Noel! I was tickled to see that as a mini melt option a few months ago so I picked up a bag, along with a bag of my long lost love, Pancake Batter. First RG order in ages! Still not melting, probably just ordered for nostalgia's sake. Come to think of it, not many of her new blends have been appealing to me either. I miss the old stuff too! Not sure when I'll ever melt again (I find myself becoming more of a hippy/natural mama by the second) but sometimes I have an itch and I'll sniff the wax that I have left. Is it weird that I keep my wax around to never melt? Lol!

    1. It is a great summer scent. So cheerful and softly tropical.

Not weird at all! How would you feel about melting pure soy or soy beeswax with EO's instead of FO's? Having a little one to think of changes your life and choices. For Adam and I it was no more cussing, no more nictotine, no crazy drinking, and more PG TV. Not a huge sacrifice for us at all given our natural "old souls" but still a change. We had different wants for our kids than what we grew up with. And that may include different foods, less chemicals, less TV, or whatever hits home with you guys. <3 You will be great parents no matter what!
