Rosegirls: April Chunk Opening

Jenny opened up her Rosegirls website for select chunk bag scents back in April and I purchased three scents. The bags cost $10.00 each and hold about 8-9 ounces of wax total. I did get one scent by mistake and I am missing one I ordered but I contacted Jenny and she said she would mail out the replacement. Shipping was a flat rate of $9.00, paid at time of purchase.

Dunk My Donut Streuselkuchen Noel- A few of my very favorite Rosegirls scents blended into spicy bakery bliss. Strong and deep cinnamon sugar sprinkled on fried coffee cake donuts and topped with vanilla creme. Panera cinnamon scones spread with clotted cream. Waking up to the scent of homemade cinnamon rolls rising in the oven. Cinnamon bakery goodness blended to perfection.

Pink Peppermint Milkshake- A wonderful blend of strong peppermints and milky creaminess that does not have any sour tones. The milk shake reminds me a little of whipped cream. The pink sugar portion offers that familiar sweet musky tone of raspberries, cotton candy and caramel.

Rhubarb Raspberry Vanilla Bean Scones- This is the one that came that I did not order. Fruity bakery is not really my forte, with a few exceptions of course. The signature rich raspberry sauce is made more tart by rhubarb and dots dense scones, buttered and creamed. A great scent for sure, but I am going to be passing this on in an Instagram giveaway. <3 Share the wealth and all that. The one scent I am missing is Plum Pomegranate Vanilla Lace. I figure with the holiday weekend and all that, it may take a while to arrive.

Free sample chunks in Raspberry Pistachio Smoothie. That tell tale cherry-almond sweetness of pistachio with the syrupy raspberry sauce is creamed out by vanilla marshmallows. A strong, sweet scent. Lovely, but not for me. I still can't do cherry-almond.

Did you buy during the April chunk opening? What did you get? Did you order during this most recent opening last weekend? I bought only two scents this time: Pumpkin Milkshake and Apple French Toast.

  1. I did not buy during the April nor July chunk opening, though I was sorely tempted. The opening this past weekend didn't have very many scents I was interested in. All I really wanted was the pumpkin milkshake, so you'll have to tell me how it is once you melt it! <3

    1. I will save you a couple chunks of the pumpkin and mail them out in a care package for you in the fall. <3 I only bought that one and the apple one, which I was iffy on with the bread note but hoping it won't be too bready.

  2. I have not ordered since early in the year, although this latest opening really tempted me with the fall scents. That Dunk My Streuselnono you got sounds divine! The peppermint one too! *sigh* I do love their scents, just wish they were strong for me.

    1. The DMD and peppermint ones are really yummy on cold. I am waiting to melt them for a bit. I am bummed your sampler chunks didn't work for you. Thank you for sharing some with me. I will still save a chunk of each of these for you. Hold on to them and maybe they will get better for you with time. Age them like a fine wine. LOL! So I lay here in bed like an invalid. We all went to my mom's house to swim for the first time in a decade (she has been renovating the home to put on the market and got the pool cleaned), well I went to climb up the step ladder and all the brittle 29 year old plastic steps broke into a million shards and I fell and my legs look like Wolverine tried to shave my legs. They hurt so bad and are pretty gnarly and deep. Bruised. So bright side is that tomorrow I will be laid in bed all day reading Lady Midnight. Emma and Julian spent the night on the beach. But I have a feeling the scars will be bad. :-/

    2. Ouchie! And shamey shamey, Emma and Julian.

Do you put honey on your wounds? My mom does that, and my stepdad swore by it, said it healed them faster and lessened scarring.

    3. I have not heard of that. I do know that honey has antibacterial properties. I have been spraying Bactine and Dermaplast on it to take away the pain. I will have to try the honey thing. I know my mom used to pop vitamin E capsules and slather them on scars. I should probably try that too.

  3. My set of second hand bakery flash sale wax arrived on Friday. It is potent cold but like you mentioned can happen, not throwing like a champ. And then I decided maybe pure bakery isn't for me, so fickle. I have my eyes on fruity now. Candy panda and SMT look good, I melted the cinnamon dragon's blood you sent me and it was a winner. Almost ordered from Candy Panda but couldn't pull the trigger on $10 flat rate shipping for 15 cups. Should I just suck it up...I am moving today and may be taking a mad money spending hiatus to focus on house stuff.

    1. I am sorry they are not throwing well :-( I cannot do heavy bakery a lot either. I like it on really cold days or when it is raining sometimes. But other than that it is too oppressing for me. Candy Panda is great! Stephanie makes great wax and it a sweet friend. I think she is worth the shipping. But I recommend waiting until you are settled. The wax will always be there. Plus I can send you more when you run low :-)

  4. I am revising my opinion on my RG wax, I should have held off on saying anything until I did thorough testing! I brought it to my apartment and I am enjoying it. I ended up ordering from Candy Panda. And I am having a great time with your wax sampler, in my experience CFTKR and the Bathing Garden packs the strongest scent punch.

    1. Oh good!!! I have quite a few RG favorites. Glad you are enjoying it.

Oh fun! I love Candy Panda. She has some great scents. I agree, CFTKR and TBG have some real strong ones! I love them too. I will send you a fall box of goodies :-)
