Warmed Wax: TBG Victorian Midway & CFTRK Butternut Pumpkin

The Bathing Garden Victorian Midway was a scent I feel in love with earlier in the year when Shannon offered it as part of a circus type collection. It begged to be melted in the fall. So I saved it and then I picked up one more when they became available again. It is a pretty blend of plump pumpkins, caramelized apples and brown sugar with a touch of spice. Mild but delicious it has a medium throw and smells as lovely as it looks. Those stars though. I hope she brings this back next year.

Candles From The Keeping Room Butternut Pumpkin is delicious. Deep and rich yet mellow on the spice, the almond glaze sweetness really takes the typical pumpkin aroma into a new area. One pumpkin threw about medium to medium-strong and I look forward to buying this one again next year. Hoping Carol offers it.

I am kind of sad the pumpkin season is over for me. I will be melting spiced apples, cranberries, mints, pines and all my Christmas scents from here on out and I do look forward to that though. What are some of your favorite Christmas scents?

  1. As you know, creamy vanilla-mint is my favorite scent for Christmas. I think I might keep going with some spiced cranberry scents though because I've been really loving the spiced fruit scents this year. And that unfortunately named Fall Into Autumn (from BHG) is soooo promising on cold sniff, as a Christmas scent instead of fall.

    1. I am right there with you on the mint vanilla. Though I have been melting my CFTKR Spiced Cranberry and Dessa's Spiced Cranberry and those are hitting the spot too. Hey. THANK YOU! I am so excited about my winnings! I cannot wait to melt Fall into Autumn when it gets here! <3

  2. MINT MINT MINT! Bring on the MINT! :P
Anything Cranberry too! I am really digging pine this year so that will also be going in my house. Super excited for winter and Christmas but sad to see fall go. It went really fast this year.

    1. Heck yes. I will chant right along with you! MINT MINT MINT!!!

Fall DID fly by. I hope Christmas doesn't do that. Tomorrow is already the last day of November. The girls and I are ready to get our advent calendar on!

  3. Ooh, that Bathing Garden one looks actually edible - like a little donut. Super cute. :) And because of the Fall Fun Series, I melted virtually all of my seasonal wax - just a few chunks left over from a couple of scents I had larger quantities of. I've already moved over to my wintertime wax, though - lots of peppermint, like you, coffee and chocolate scents (which is really for my husband; I don't mind them, but I don't quite love them either) and balls out bakery (sorry, that was crass! But one of those warm BAKERY blends.) ;)

    1. It does! I swear Shannon practices wax alchemy. Whoa! Congrats on melting through your fall stash! I have a few pieces left but they are CFTKR so they will keep until next year. You are a sweet wife. Our hubbies must be scent opposites. Anytime I try to melt chocolate wax he always says "something smells like wet dogs in here...." Doh. Mmmmm balls out bakerrrrrrrry.... LOL! Like big toasty zucchini bakery balls or rich moist cake balls? I like cake and cookie balls but heck no bready balls. A little salty for me.

    2. Bahahaha, I think this conversation took a very dirty turn somewhere! And I totally made a blend today at SMT that, if they allowed you to name them, I would have called Balls Out Buttery Bakery - Danish Butter Cookie, Creme Brulee and Vanilla Butter Fudge. Mmm, buttery balls.

For real, though, I've never heard the wet dog/chocolate complaint before! Zucchini corn chips, sure, or puppy paws (I'm a cat person, but I'm in total agreement about that weird paw smell that only dogs possess), but no wet dogs! Although in high school when bottled Kahlua "coolers" were all the rage (oh yak, just typing that made me feel soooo unwell) I refused to drink them because to me, they smelled, and tasted, exactly like beef jerky. Beef and alcohol, together at last!
