Warmed Wax: LSC and Dessa's Homespun Scents

Dessa's Cranberries & Pine threw strong and jolly. Plump and tart cranberries simmering on the stove with a couple cinnamon sticks and an evergreen swag as the table centerpiece. Sugared spruce is paired with spiced cranberry wonderfully. Repurchase. I need to remember this one for next year.

Lasting Scent Candles Sugar Berry Clove melted in my bedroom for several hours yesterday with a strong throw and a delicious scent. A cinnamon and clove and nutmeg spice bonanza with tart and sweet cranberries to balance the spice. I really enjoy the authenticity of the cranberries. Not candy like or artificial in any way. Repurchase and already did.

Lasting Scent Candles Holiday Splendor threw medium to medium-strong in the large living area and kitchen. A classic Christmas scent of spiced apples and balsam. I am pretty sure a lot of vendors carry this type of traditional holiday scent. I always find these comforting. Repurchase.

I have been sick the past several days. Nothing too major. Sore throat, coughing, runny nose, the usual suspects. But add it to holiday stressors and monthly full moon woes and I am a right basket case. We celebrated Christmas with Adam's parents and aunt this past weekend and it was really nice and low key. However, last night was my Pop-Pop's side of the family party and we were hosting and I was just not feeling well. I think I had an anxiety attack about an hour before and shut myself away and had a good bawl. All I craved were my two rice filled heating pads, Advil, pj's, and my bed. But I had a tiny house full of people and no where to run. I had two sweet cousins who reached out and helped me when they could see I was faltering. More and more I see that some amazing friends can be found in family. In the end it all worked out. Today I will put on some Christmas music, stay in my pj's, and wrap the rest of the gifts. Read some of my book. Get some blogging done. Keep the Advil close to hand.

What are you doing this week? Are you good at putting on a hostess face when ill? Or do you fail miserably like me?

  1. Hmm, I'll have to try Cranberries & Pine next year.

Glad your party worked out despite your woes. =( I don't have any type of hostess face, ill or not. LOL The gatherings we've hosted have been me getting everything ready, then fading into the background once people start arriving. And we haven't hosted anything in years. I think the last event I had anything to do with was Julius's 1st birthday party, back in 2014.

I work Wed/Thur this week and then I'm off until Jan3. Yay! I *want* to watch a lot of TV and DVDs but I'll probably spend most of that time right here at the computer, doing bloggy stuff and watching craft videos.

    1. Cranberries and Pine was really nice. Definitely a new holiday staple. I just need to start keeping track better of the ones I really love.

I did pop back into my bedroom a few times when it got overwhelming. Our house really is way too small for all the folks there.

I hope Wed and Thurs go by easy and smooth! And that the rest of your vacation is bliss. Maybe you can try watching one DVD or a few episodes each day then treat yourself to some computer time. I ended up watching Scrooged today because of you then I watched Home Alone with the girls after dinner. I think tomorrow I will spend reading and getting some of these hauls photographed and blogged. They are all rolling in at once. Like a tidal wave of wax.

  2. So sorry you're not feeling well! Very nice of your cousins to help. I imagine you'll feel much better by Christmas day. I am having a few family members over Christmas morning to open gifts, but Christmas dinner will be at the grandparents so not too much hostessing involved.

    1. It was very very nice. Thank you Amanda! I hope I do too. I took some Theraflu tonight. If I don't feel better by Tuesday night I think I will go to the Walk-In Clinic. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas morning and a nice dinner too. We will have my mom and sisters over Christmas Eve but there is no pressure there. Just finger food and games. <3 Are you getting excited for Christmas?

    1. Thank you! I am feeling much better after two nights of Theraflu. The stress got me. But now I am much better on that front too. Wrapping all the gifts helped me out. And now I am done. Just wading through the next few days enjoying the build up. <3 Hope you are too!
