MooScents: Pumpkin Batter and Winter Porridge

Here is my second MooScents order. I placed this order so I could get my twitchy fingers on Dicken's Fair but after I placed my order, they emailed to say it was over sold. I understand these things do happen, even though they can be mildly disappointing. The owners were very kind and refunded me the money and sent a substitute instead which shows wonderful customer service. I did "like" their Facebook page so I could maybe stay on top of restocks (which it looks like they might very well be gearing up for another one soon!). As previously mentioned, they are an RTS vendor and they carry scents blended by Moonalisa. Shipping is very fair and goes up according to amount ordered. All tarts come in clamshell format currently and run $5.45 a piece.

Chocolate Dipped Shortbread was sent gratis since Dicken's Fair was not in stock, this went above and beyond and was not expected at all, but greatly appreciated. This velvety milk chocolate tart rolls warm and smooth through the senses like hot cocoa made with real chocolate and heavy cream.  I will be including this delicious tart in my Arcana Wildcraft giveaway.

Winter Porridge & Apple Strudel features oats, apple strudel and spice. It pretty much smells exactly like homemade apple crisp. Honeycrisp apples (not the overly sweet candy Macintosh apples or the tart green Granny Smith apples but a nice crisp nectar filled apple) baked and bubbling with brown sugar and spice and topped with crunchy buttery oat crumbles. Good grief this is scrummy.

Pumpkin Batter  blends bread, pumpkin puree, spices, vanilla buttercream, caramel and raisins. Sounds like pumpkin bread pudding. Smells like pumpkin bread pudding. Gooey and sweet, made with cinnamon raisin bread (smells just like it) the pumpkins make this a hearty rustic dessert. Two cubes threw in my kitchen area at a medium-strong to strong projection. It smelled just as incredible while melting as it did on cold, only deeper and more lively.

Carnival Cakes is a repurchase. You can read about it here, along with a few other scents.

MooScents is fast becoming a favorite. I cannot wait to see what new scents they restock. My friend, Valerie, also pointed me in the direction of an up and coming Moonalisa Mystery Box release. There are three varieties: chocolate, candy/fruity/bakery, and Goddess/herbal. Moona hinted that Paul was making things for this box so I am guessing tarts? Can you guess which box I would love to pounce on?

  1. Ooo do tell more about this mystery box? I can't wait until this vendor restocks to see if I can grab some goodies! The rustic look on these is what I believe grabs my attention the most. Hope you are doing well Julie!

    1. I wish I could!! LOL! I think they are items that Moonalisa has RTS that she throws together according to scent category and sells them at a discount. There will be a little bit of everything in there as far as product range. I love the rustic appeal too! <3

  2. Winter Porridge sounds so nice! I hope they restock Dicken's Fair so you can try it

Have you tried the mystery boxes before? I was thinking about trying one

    1. Winter Porridge is a stand out for sure. I wanted to melt it for review purposes but I am a bad blogger sometimes and just like to hold on to certain scents. I try to melt at least one or two things to get an idea of throw but this one I wanted to hang onto.

I was kinda bummed Dicken's Fair didn't get restocked but hey... maybe this Christmas it will. I have NOT tried the mystery boxes but I have a friend who has and she loves them. I am thinking springing for one might be fun. Worse case scenario, I don't like it and can give it away to one of my sisters. College kids love free bath and body.

  3. As soon as I saw this pic I thought, Julie ordered a chocolate scent? Now that it's explained, at least it's another goodie to add to your giveaway. Moonalisa's labels are bee-yo-tee-ful, I love when the artisan-ship extends to the packaging. The cinnamon raisin pumpkin description caught my eye, I enjoy spicy bread scents. Will have to check them out soon.
If there was ever a deserving recipient of an herbal goddess wax box, it is you my friend;)

    1. LOL!! Nope! I will try some chocolate here and there but not a whole clamshell. It is very nice though!! I just know someone else might appreciate it more than I. The labels are definitely swoon-worthy. And the packaging is so nice too when it arrives. I probably should have taken photos of it but... eh... sometimes I just like to tear open and package and not have to photograph it.

Hope you are doing well!!! xoxo

  4. Nice, nice, nice. I picked up the Chocolate Dipped Shortbread scent based on your description - it sounds a lot like the Cocoa and Cream candle BBW had this past Christmas. It was just like melted chocolate cream, not the least bit Tootsie Roll. I'm, like, super duper excited for this order, I think it's going to be great. Thank you for turning me onto this vendor, exciting. :)

    1. That cocoa cream candle almost got picked up a few times but I had to remind myself that chocolate and I don't do home fragrance together. Usually. I do love CFTKR Chocolate Patchouli. But yes, as long as it isn't Tootsie Roll I am likely to give it a go. I cannot wait to see your order!
