Mermaid Treasure: Gather and Flow

Ashley at Gather and Flow forges beautiful silver pieces with a focus on the natural and great detail. I have one of her mountain and moon necklaces that I love to wear frequently. When I noticed she came out with the mountain and moon(stone) shadow box ring a while back I immediately fell in love. I had planned on treating myself to this ring once I had lost a certain amount of weight, and even though I have made gains in reclaiming my health I had not met that number goal. Ashley convinced me to go ahead and treat myself though. Life is too short and this ring is just right for me.

I love the dainty size of the ring and gazing into it helps assuage some of the blues I feel at not seeing the mountains or getting to visit them this summer. I can carry them with me where ever I go.

  1. Ah, thar she is in her stunning silver glory. I pined for this same ring and it's as flawless a piece as I thought. Thank you for doing a hand model pose because until you described it as dainty I thought it too big and bold for my scrawny fingers, but it isn't even though it has awesome presence. Perhaps someday I shall grab one, or a similar design, I can't help thinking a mountain shape with moon might work, something triangular or diamond-shaped. I'll design it in my head and maybe Ashley will make it come to fruition someday.

    1. She ended up making it in a more cost effective manner and the price was reduced by about $30 or so and I knew it was a sign. :-) I love your idea of the triangular or diamond shape! That would be amazing. I do know she does custom pieces. I recently commissioned a custom piece from a UK maker for Savanna when she has her menarche. Probably sounds strange but I want to welcome her into womanhood and mark the occasion.

  2. Ashley sounds like a pleasure to work with and btw, I forgot to mention how perfect it looks on you as I was too busy dreaming up my own version, lol.
Hmm, I hope you share a pic somewhere of the custom piece and I don't think it's strange, but maybe uncommon, all the more special for it. She is a lucky young lady who will wear it proudly no doubt.

    1. She really is very kind and communicative. That is what I particularly enjoy in customer service. Thank you for your kind words.

I plan on it! I also picked her up a "First Moon" gift set that has a sleep mist, a handmade clutch to put pads inside, a soy candle, a bracelet and a booklet about puberty, yoga poses to help pain and such. I have been talking openly with her about this transition and she knows what to expect but it is nice to have all the info she can get.
