This is maybe the twelfth apple pie I have made over the years. But I may make another one here soon. I cannot imagine how cool it would be to go apple picking and then take them home to make a pie out of. That just sounds too good to be true. <3TheRedolentMermaidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12025330454820306972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2810618299009561680.post-57194636857536990832017-09-19T12:49:31.218-04:002017-09-19T12:49:31.218-04:00Thanks! I don't think I have ever really used her recipes due to their convoluted nature. I tend to like mine rather simple. Southern Living or Epicurious are usually my go-to recipe sources. I used to hate apple pie but I would make it for him anyway and then each year a slice would taste better and better and before I knew it I was looking forward to baking it.TheRedolentMermaidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12025330454820306972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2810618299009561680.post-36797731072879587992017-09-19T12:46:23.501-04:002017-09-19T12:46:23.501-04:00Thank you! I do hope you try the apple cake. it is seriously moist and delicious. It is sublime with the Browned Butter frosting but even really yummy plain. Definitely Martha Stewart worthy in my opinion :) I've never tried making an apple pie before but these photos have me wanting to get baking right now!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08797040514308451248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2810618299009561680.post-72071150874751199142017-09-17T12:32:06.406-04:002017-09-17T12:32:06.406-04:00Being Martha-worthy is hardly indicative of worth ...Being Martha-worthy is hardly indicative of worth (because for what it's worth, that pie looks so scrumptious! Nice and buttery and homemade-lumpy, with apple slices instead of some goopy filling. Mmm, nice.) I find Martha's recipes needlessly convoluted - why, Martha, do you have me measuring out 1 2/3 tsp less 1/4 tsp of something?! Are you trying to drive me insane?!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14320833098339108738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2810618299009561680.post-28276442050991862032017-09-17T09:19:53.111-04:002017-09-17T09:19:53.111-04:00That's a classic apple pie. I've never made my own crust/apple pie but if I did, I'd want it to look like that, beautifully homemade.Jaybirdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15849863681125100236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2810618299009561680.post-39469672803188023572017-09-16T09:09:30.828-04:002017-09-16T09:09:30.828-04:00Gosh, your pie baking photos look amazing! I will have to try that apple spice cake sometime; I don't think I've had anything quite like it. Those apple fragrances sound intriguing; some are hit or miss for me but your descriptions sound wonderful!Amanda C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14977811037288255876noreply@blogger.com
