With the announcement of another impending Rosegirls store opening, I wanted to celebrate by showcasing five scents I have tried and adore and long for a pie sized quantity of each. One is majorly shocking for me. Here the beauties are from L to R: Peppermint Coconut Mallow, Soothing Lavender Dreams, Donky Kong Destruction (surprise!!! I found a banana I LOVE), Monster Cookie Fluff Puffs (believe the hype), and Frosted Streuselkuchen.
Peppermint Coconut Mallow- One of my favorite bedtime melts, the peppermint is nice and strong but still lets the coconut glide through on a bed of sweet mallow goodness. Edurance is the name of PCM's game. I have put this in my warmer before I went to bed, fell asleep, and woke up to sweet candy peppermints dancing around my nose. Now, I know better than to leave my warmer on overnight, but it has happened.
Soothing Lavender Dreams- I believe this is RG sweet lavender blended with their baked zucchini bread but the BZB has an almost sweet cookie quality to it when warmed (no heinous corn chips, feet or vomit ready to spring from the evil twin zucchini bread sometimes has). The lavender is always present and strong, about 50-50 lavender to bakery ratio to my sniffer.
Donkey Kong Destruction- This is a blend of banana cream pie, bear claws, and vanilla ice cream. I have melted a few bananas and poured them out long before they got a chance to work their slimey peels around my rooms. On cold, this was the typical candy Runt banana wrapped in some slightly cinnamon puff pastry. Warmed, this was nirvana! The bear claw was made of banana bread and filled with sweet cream and sprinkled with cinnamon on top. I may have drooled. It reminded me how much a scent can really bloom and transform when warmed. This ugly duckling became a swan.
Monster Cookie Fluff Puffs- What can I possibly say about a scent so well loved and documented?? Crunchy buttery homemade sugar cookies topped with a dollop of melting marshmallow frosting. Extra bourbon vanilla extract and maybe the merest hint of almond extract. Do yourself a favor. Get some for your nostrils... they will appreciate it.
Frosted Streuselkuchen- When I was younger I had an obsession with cheap $0.99 gas station coffee crumb cakes. So moist, with those cinnamon butter crumbles on top. This scent is like all the best parts of that cake, but baked by your grossmutter (pronounced: growss-mootter). BAM! I got all teachery on you. Grossmutter is German for grandmother. Ok, nerd moment over. This coffee cake has a hefty dose of vanilla bean noel and it shows. There is a very creamy counterpart that smooths the whole cinnamon component down.
I hope everyone is able to order when Rosegirls opens on the 21st of this month. More Rosegirls in the world and melting in our homes can only be a good thing.
Part of me wants to try for a RG order beyond what our Muffin Club will be, but then I think no, let the people who can't get to the store order. On the other hand, maybe the things I would order would not be available in the store when I'm there. Decisions!

It is something to think about. If there are one or two scents you would really like to have I bet if you told Jenny she would get them made for you. Are they store blends you crave or custom?
DeleteIt's the store blends I'd consider ordering, just to be sure I could get them. I seem to be floundering in the scent blend creation department this time. Everything I come up with seems so close to something that's already there. *grrrr*

That is a fabulous picture Julie! I love your list ..although it was missing Pecan Waffle Fluff Puffs!
ReplyDeleteI know :-( I totally would but those pies add up quickly!!! I am aiming for a bag of the regular pecan waffle fluff puffs and a bag of the one with butterbrickle in it. RG really has some amazing blends and it makes it agonizing to whittle my list down to reasonable proportions! Thank you about the photo. I am having fun shooting in manual now. It is a great challenge and I love it. And this compliment from you means a lot. You have such a talent with photography.
DeleteThose chunks. That shell!! I love your list, it has a lot of great stuff on it (minus zucchinicornchipbread, which I know you like, lol). Monster cookie fluff puffs is one of the few bakery scents I craaaaaaave....it's so freaking awesome. I can't wait to try the frosted streuselchoochoo you let me have! Thanks again for the chunk!
ReplyDeleteThe conch shells were centerpieces at our wedding, they held the most beautiful bouquet of flowers. I was able to snag on before the guests ran off with them :-) Monster Cookie truely is delicious. In fact I filled every warmer in the house with a chunk today for my baby's birthday party. I have one lonely chunk left! When you try the frosted choochoo let me know what you think!! You are most welcome dear friend. <3
