The Pulsating Indian Aztec Facial!

Santa, in the form of my momma, gave me the ingredients to make an amazing mask for Christmas this past year: apple cider vinegar "with mother," Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay, and a nice fat and fluffy Sonia Kashuk fan brush for application. It was one of my favorite gifts.

Reading the label on the back is very enlightening.

In a bowl, I add a splash of vinegar and about double the powder (1:2 vinegar/clay ratio). It fizzes! Mix and apply. This stuff is potent baby. Please, only put on your face for about 5 minutes the first time. I keep mine on until it dries, about 20 minutes. I usually remove the mask in the bath tub while bathing, as it does take some elbow grease to remove it completely. There will be some redness but that will fade after a few mintues. My mom has been using this for months and her skin tone is more even and fine lines have decreased. I enjoy using it but need to be more regular about application so I can see the results she does. A tub is about $4.99 at the Vitamin Store and the vinegar is affordable too. There is enough product here for about two years worth of application. Warning: a little goes a long way. The first time my sisters and I used it we made enough to bathe in it. Seriously, like a full body mask. Start small! "Feel your face pulsate!"

Be honest.. does this scare you? The pulsating? And if "World's Most Powerful Facial" is in parentheses is that the same as an asterisk? * According to our Aztec Indian mothers *

Bottom Line: I like it!

  1. ACV "with mother" is supposed to be a cure/aid for so many things. I tried to drink it for something but it messed with my stomach acidity and now I'm afraid to drink it. I can imagine that it's scary to feel it pulsating on your face, bubbling like a cauldron, but it also seems like it might truly do some good work on one's skin. Although...'feel your face pulsate' is an intimidating tagline, lol!

    1. I don't think I could drink it straight up either. But I do try to use it in salads and such. Hopefully that is enough to help with something. It does feel good on the skin but I laughed when I was reading the label. It tickled my funny bone. Hope you have a great day!

  2. I've heard good things about bentonite clay. I bought a bag of French green clay but usually use a soap with clay or mud to do 2 steps in one if I'm in a hurry, like the FP Festival soap. Feels almost like a body mask.

    1. I really do enjoy using the clay. Good to know using it in soap is just as good. I am holding onto Festival for a wee bit longer. I think it will be a nice pick me up for when school starts back. Do you use your French green clay in the same manner?

    2. I've done a few facial masks with water. I will do a spot test with vinegar to make sure I can handle it, I'm nervous. lol

I have melt and pour soap base in the back of my closet that I got a few years ago, I might try making a clay bar and use some essential oils.
