Hi y'all! I don't know about you, but I enjoy taking a peek into other folks' homes and holiday decor. Unfortunately, I do not have a whole lot of fall goodies, but I have plans to fix that. I will go ahead and show you what I do have though. So come on in, grab a cup of warm tea (want any sugar or cream in that?) and join me.
The wooden plank pumpkins were a result of a fun and intoxicating Mom's Night In about 4 years ago. A Pinterest project come to life. My wreaths are miss matched post-Thanksgiving clearance deals. The pelican was carved using a chain saw. Not by me. In the transom window above the doors I so have a garland of leaves bracketed by two more wooden pumpkins.
First, please forgive the lighting. Our home has an open plan with lots of natural light but it can still be difficult to photograph inside. These are the doors to the office where Adam works. My sewing and crafting occurs in there too. More Wal-Mart clearance hanging things. I like the owl. The pumpkin on the floor is my favorite! It has the scripture "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." I picked up the pumpkin and the swag above the door at Southern Hospitality in Plant City.
A few fall things here and there in the kitchen. Red glitter leaf garland (Dollar Tree), orange glitter owl (Target Dollar Bin), mason jar with silk fall flowers (Darby's wedding favor).
Gracing the china cabinet is a swag I made and a ceramic pumpkin I painted (clearance last year from Hobby Lobby).
Yellow leaves hanging from our year round starfish garland (Dollar Tree- the leaves) and bunting I made using felt and scrap fabric. It says "Thankful" with a pumpkin on each end.
Some more random fall decor. I will be putting up our Thankful Tree soon. It is one of my favorite fall traditions. But it won't start until November 1st. Thank you for joining me! In a couple of Sundays my sisters and I will be painting Mason jar pumpkins. I will take some pictures and let you know how they turn out. Have you put out any fall decorations yet?
I love this post. Your home is so beautiful and sweet -you've done a fabulous job with the halloween decs.
ReplyDeleteIt's such an honor to be able to see a glimpse into your house, thank you for sharing.
Thank you! "Love grows best in little houses." :-) most of my fall stuff is in the kitchen area. Need to do some living area fall things. Have a great Monday Sunnee. <3
DeleteYour house & decor are so lovely & cute! Love it! I wish I was a better decorator, but I never know what looks good -- I always go comfort instead of style, but I want to be both, ya know?! I haven't put up my Fall/Halloween decor yet, but I don't have much & have more Halloween than Fall. One of these days I hope to have more!! Hope you have a good week!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tricia! We still have a long way to go but the journey of gathering and finding treasures is fun. I like comfy and stylish too. Beach/coastal/nautical is an easy one for me. I tried to do 50's diner once in my kitchen and totally failed.
DeleteI love your house and all of your cute decorations!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim! I hope to add some more festive things eventually, but I like to do that after it is over and on sale :-)
DeleteYour decorations are so precious!! Look at all the color! Your house is gorgeous, Julie. You have such an incredible sense of design and creativity, everything looks like it fits just so right where it is. So, so cool!
ReplyDeleteIt might seem like it doesn't fit with the post, but I LOVE that picture frame with the starfish in it. So elegant and fitting with your home!
Thank you Lauren <3 <3 <3 we had the house built 10 years ago and still work on it little by little getting curtains here or painting there. My next wish is plantation shutters for the office (and eventually the rest). One day! That picture frame used to be a mirror but I broke it somehow. It is an old mosaic I made in college but I loved it so much I had to hang it up empty anyway :-) glad you like it, I was worried it was goofy without anything really in it.
DeleteYour house is gorgeous Julie!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Julie! It is very comfy cozy like a favorite pair of yoga pants. I love color... Maybe a bit too much ;-) but life is short. Live colorful!
