Kindred Earth Botanicals: Aromatherapy Inhalers

Miriam Carl is a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist and I follow her on social media and enjoy reading her blog. She owns and creates at Kindred Earth Botanicals and I finally sprung for an inhaler I had been eyeing. Her products are all natural, cruelty free and are constructed in small batches with wildcrafted and organic oils only.

Blue Skies- A therapeutic aromatherapy inhaler with an invigorating aroma that is fresh, piney, and citrusy. Benefits: uplifts spirit, soothes anxiety, decongests and supports immunity, overall health tonic. Features Pinion Pine, Himalayan Cedarwood, Pink Grapefruit, Lemon and more. $15

After a couple of weeks of use I have come to appreciate this blend. During trying times, suffering in pain or stress, I have found a small spot of calm while gently inhaling this energetic pine and cedar union. I keep it in my purse now along with the Clary Sage Yuzu inhaler.

The Clary Sage and Yuzu inhaler was given free with my purchase and smells vibrant and meditative. I read that yuzu can help with lowering heart rate and decreasing stress, while clary sage can relax and offer an anti-depressant like effect. The yuzu smells tropical, tart and bursts with citrus zest. In the background, the clary sage offers green herbal softness with a slight peppery edge.

I am enjoying these brief little pick-me-ups throughout the day as I need them. A shaft of sunlight when the grey clouds crowd in. I would definitely try more scents as Miriam creates them.

Have you used aromatherapy before? Do you have any favorite scent blends?

  1. Interesting!! I just bought a good ol' Vicks VapoInhaler this weekend after struggling with nasal nastiness recently. I used to think those inhaler things were useless and gimmicky but I'm loving mine right now.

I've never put much stock into the whole aromatherapy thing but since my illusions about a lot of things are being shattered in my old age now, maybe I need to reconsider this too. I need that clary sage yuzu one!!! LOL

    1. I love the Vick's inhalers!! But I am a menthol freak. Glad it is helping you find some relief.

I think if you don't expect miracles or healing beyond some soothing and peace of mind, then aromatherapy can be beneficial. I am not the type of person to give up my Advil (my woman parts won't let me) but I do enjoy the little bit of a lift these guys give me. It may be brief. And it may be that I am just taking a moment to pause in my day, plus smelling refreshing scents, but I am enjoying it. I will try not to look the proverbial gift horse in the mouth on this one. <3 And just let it be.

I didn't see the Clary Sage Yuzu one up right now but Miriam is very kind. If you really wanted to try it I bet she would make you up one.

    3. LOL Yeah, I don't need someone else's nose cooties on top of my own. I'm going to have a look at at her site. I'm super curious now.

  3. I love aromatherapy. I have a few roll-ons, balms, and sprays I've purchased from Whole Foods, but never thought to look into people who make their own. I love lavender blends, peppermint blends, or anything geared toward stress-relief and sleep. I'll have to check this out. Thanks!

    1. I have always enjoyed fragrances so it made sense for me to venture into this aspect as well. Glad to hear you enjoy it too! I will have to check out Whole Foods goodies. Lavender and peppermint are favorites of mine too and I will look into using those in this manner soon. Kindred Earth has a coy sounding linen spray that I am interested in trying next.

  4. Intriguing, I'd never expect miracles above the immediate effects of the soothing/energizing scent to brain connection. This may be obvious but how do you use them, I've never used an inhaler...I've used the pulse point and diffuser method, or dropping into my hands.

    1. It is a hollow tube that has a an absorbent core that is soaked in the oils. At the top of the plastic tube are holes. You place the tip either just under your nose and inhale. The oils are pretty potent. I can wave mine a few inches away unless I am congested. We diffuse oils in the school I work at but I don't tinker with essential oils as medication on the skin or ingesting too much.
