From the Johnson household to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!
This year will be the first year I will actually be home to cook in the morning and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. So far the menu entails: fried turkey (my husband's specialty), mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, asparagus, all day mushrooms, cranberry sauce, yeast rolls, stuffing, pecan pie and pumpkin pie. It is supposed to rain all day and bring in a nice cold front soon. What are you doing today? Anything in particular you are looking forward to eating? Mine is the homemade pumpkin pie (REAL pumpkin!!! Eeek!) with homemade whipped cream. Yes ma'am. Seconds, please.
I am thankful for you, for stopping by to read this, for taking the time to chat with me, for being my friend. I hope this holiday season is good to you and that you build lots of wonderful memories and give and receive a bounty of love.
Happy Thanksgiving!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, Julie! I hope you and yours have a wonderful day and a great holiday season! <3
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy!! Your dinner looked phenomenal! I hope it warmed your tummy. <3
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving Julie. I hope you have a wonderful day with your family. Stuffing with gravy and canned cranberry sauce is my favorite. My family hates those brown and serve rolls but I have to have them because my mom always had them.
ReplyDeleteThank you Yasmine! It was so very nice to stay home all day. I love canned cranberry sauce too so we always have both types. Do you like your chilled? Brown and Serve are so fluffy inside! I will eat some with you. <3
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving! May you and your family be blessed and eat lots of yummy food!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
Thank you Jessica! May your family be blessed this holiday season too. <3 Much love to you!!
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you! We're staying home today, have the boys over, eating too much food and watching Vikings football. :)

Sounds like the perfect day. I quite enjoyed staying home and cozy myself. Are you gearing up for Christmas? Have you pulled any decorations down?
DeleteTree is up. Decorations are very minimal this year but they're out. Don't really have a Christmas buzz yet though.

Happiest of Thanksgivings to you and yours, Julie (or very near the end of Thanksgiving.) :) And I'm sure I asked this of you last year, but please do tell, what are all day mushrooms? Mushrooms you just eat all day long? Because that sounds pretty great to me. I do love garlic sauteed mushrooms.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! All Day Mushrooms are cooked on low heat in a pot on the stove (about 5-6 quarts of them, preferably white button or baby bella) with a stick of butter, 2 cups of red wine, garlic, dill, Worcestershire sauce, chicken bouillon and beef bouillon cubes. Cook for 4 hours with lid on and 4 hours with lid off. Amazing I tell ya. Pure bliss.
