Haus of Gloi: General Catalog Refreshers

You know... after I went gaga over the Summer Release Refreshers the Haus of Gloi made, they went and created them in some General Catalog scents too. Well how was I supposed to ignore that?!

These were $8.00 each for a 4 ounce bottle.

Moon Dog has been a favorite of mine for a while now. Ever since I was given a sample of the perfume oil, I knew it would be a long time joy. I bought a small pumpkin butter in this scent in the past too. Now I have its coconut spiced sandalwood goodness anytime I need to cool down. On a side note I had never heard the term Moon Dog before. My sister and father pointed out a Moon Dog to me one night after this scent had come into my life and it made me laugh. They call any halo of light around a full moon a "moon dog" but I did learn that really a true moon dog is a spot of bright light that sits on the halo ring of light around the moon, like a diamond on a chain, sometimes in a pair. These are apparently pretty rare phenomena though. I will be looking out for one in the future. Don't mind me if you see me in a moon trance.

You'll notice Stayr is missing some juice and the cap is all condensed with liquid. I am guilty of spraying this one with abandon right after it arrived in the mail. I have some Satyr pumpkin butter so I doubled up on the juicy blood orange, ambered vanilla and incense goodness.

Haus Amber features the Haus of Gloi's own blended amber accord. Resinous, a touch sweet, golden with suede and incense leanings. A wonderfully sexy amber that smolders with dark labdanum and sensuality. An amazing, amazing amber that I highly recommend trying.

Apothecary is an essential oil blend of lemongrass, rosemary, blood cedar, bitter basil, lavender, and vetiver. Herbal and invigorating, this makes an excellent cooling scent for a Refresher. Jars of all shapes and sizes filled with dried botanicals in shades of green and violet and blue. Hand scrawled labels identify the medicinal contents that fragrant the air. Cedar boxes house salts and spider web gauze. Smoked vetiver and sage tied in bundles hang from the rafters. A brilliantly blended aroma.

I love how cooling and nourishing these scenting are to my skin. The scent does not linger for long, but reapplication and reenergizing the tingle is all part of the fun anyway. I use these more as a pick-me-up rather than a true perfume. I believe these are only offered during the summer. If you buy one, spray with relish and spray all over yourself. You won't regret it. (Except your face of course, you don't want to do that). And don't forget to shake well as contents do settle.
