The highs and lows of the month.
Ha! Creepy and weird, right? It was a scene from the haunted museum I went to in Cassadaga that I mentioned last month. The wall of babies. Yikes. Yet, almost artful.

Watching:
KDrama and anime: A Love So Beautiful, Violet Evergarden (so beautifully done!!! I cried during several episodes- Netflix), My Hero Academia (first half of season 5), Attack on Titan, Monthly Girls Nozaki, and currently into season 2 of Fruits Basket. I watch these with Scarlette. It has been something for us to bond over. I also watched The Virgin Suicides and Cruella.
Listening:
Pink Floyd, Jimmy Buffett, Led Zeppelin
Reading:
Dune by Frank Herbert, also finished a ton of others books recently but hardly any were on the reading challenge prompt.
Awaiting:
I placed a small order at Choosing Keeping in the UK for some nice pencils and fine liners and erasers. Looking forward to that arriving. I even went for the gift wrap even though it is only for myself.
Dreading:
No dread. Just need to get outside more and finally enjoy the summer now that work is done.
Hit:
My used furniture from a local consignment shop. I picked up a sofa and two reading chairs. On my next paycheck I will grab a rug and some pillows and I think we will be set! The new (used) couch is even already Toddles approved.
Miss:
I am getting down to the last dregs of my very favorite natural deodorant from Wild Roots Body Care. I have been watching for a restock but there have not been many updates from the owner. I am hoping things are fine on her end. Should I email and ask or just figure she is on a hiatus?
Low:
Being sick for a couple weeks at the start of the month. Low iron. Tiredness. Moodiness. Some blues.
High:
Spending time with Adam's family in Ohio. Getting some new (used) furniture for the living room finally. Snagging some good books. Chickens. Flowers. Sunshine. Rain. And lots and lots of boba.
How was your June? Any fun plans for July?
Oh, I love your lists!! <3
ReplyDeleteGyoza and Boba- I'm so jealous! Yum yum!
June flew by!!
So, I've never been successful in getting a response on Wildroots contact part of the website over the years. I assume my messages go through. I did contact about a month or so ago about deo, cuz I've been out for real long now. (I have no idea if any of the ingredients are affected by all the Covid shortages yet)?
I've bought another good handful of other brands' deo and honestly nothing works like Wildroots. Big sigh!! I hope deo will be stocked soon, so I can smell great again. Ha ha
My pits reek. LOL
Can you tell I have been pairing my anime watching with amazing Japanese food? I recently went to the Asian grocery and picked up a few bags of frozen gyoza for my girls and I to make at home. We are excited.
DeleteOh man. That sucks. I happend to buy two more as a back up a good long time ago and now they are running on fumes. I have tried SO MANY natural deodorants too and honestly, NONE of them have come even close to the Wildroots formula. She made some real magic there. I hope she is fine and just taking a break. I even desperately tried to search the websites of other places where she stocked her goods and came up empty handed. My pits are about to stink real soon here.
:*-(
Ohh and I'm not at all trying to discourage you from contacting Megan at Wildroots, I just honestly don't know the best way to get ahold of her. But, yeah, I kinda check the site almost daily in hopes of deo being stocked! ;) ;)
ReplyDeleteI might try to reach out on various platforms then. No hurt in trying?
DeleteYes, I definitely think it's worth trying to contact on other platforms. Megan's a busy mama!
DeleteI did see she posted some lotions to the site the other week, so there's some creation going on. I'm just not enough in the loop to know if she's actively running Wildroots or other duties and desires are taking precedence.
Ha, the picture reminds me of the crazy-campy-creepy place in Houston called Super Happy Fun Land! If your sis still lives there check it out :) July is a super flurry of activity for me... finding a new apartment (same city), and a journey back to Texas to pick up my car, which a family member has been babysitting since the pandemic began. Then a road trip back to Cambridge with my best friend!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your deodorant! I use Thai Crystal but it's weird about natural deodorant, what is grail for one person will be irritating on another or just plain not work.
I'm reading a book about smells in 1700s Paris called "The Foul and the Fragrant"...b.o. used to be considered very sexy apparently! 🤓 🇫🇷
