In The Clear: Wax Bags

I was running out of baggies to put wax tarts in for gifting, cutting up and general storage. Once again I headed to my favorite place to purchase, In The Clear on Etsy. There are lots of places to purchase the proper storage bags for wax tarts, even vendors sell bags now, but In The Clear ships so startlingly fast that I just can't resist. This time around I bought some glassine bags as well.

Zip top polypropylene bags (50 ct) in a 4 x 4 inch size cost $2.85.

Fifty medium gusseted glassine bags (3 x 1 3/4 x 6 3/4 inches) ran $5.00 even.

Wax Packaging: In the Clear

Us waxy folk take our smells seriously. There is a train of thought that regular Ziplock type baggies will suck the scent out of wax. It has been recommended by the majority of the wax community that the proper storage for wax should be a polypropylene bag. Yes, there is a wax community! Isn't it interesting how many sub communities exist in the world? Nail polish, fandoms, quilting, gaming, wine tasting, arena football,  dooms day prepping, really anything that can generate fanatics. Back to the packaging. I cannot say if this belief is true scientifically, however, I am the "let's be on the safe side" type.

I like to purchase polypropylene bags so I can share my wax and in some cases, break it up into more manageable pieces. In the Clear on Etsy is my go-to bag vendor. Twice I have purchased from them and been happy both times. There is a rumor of a coupon code for 10% off, but I do not see it listed and there was not a code in my order bag.

I ordered 4x4 last time, this time I picked up 5x5 in anticipation of sharing larger wax cuts. The cost was $6.80 for 100 count plus shipping. I ordered on June 19th and it arrived promptly on the 23rd.

Some large Front Porch macarons came in this 5x5 ziptop bag, for a size reference. One a side note, In the Clear does have some chic paper, packaging, twine and other stationary accoutrements. Have you ever experienced scent depletion from wax due to packaging?

On another note, my friend gifted me with a Wreck This Journal and it has officially been broken into. We are leaving for the mountains in a few days for our yearly family vacation. My mom is housesitting/petsitting for us <3 My new journal, some quilting, some wax and World Without End will be traveling alongside me. What do you like to do on looooong car rides?
