Awaiting:
April looks to be pretty much the same has the end of March has turned out to be. Mostly hanging out at home with the family with a few grocery store runs. I do look forward to weekends so I can swim and sun and garden all day long. I am also looking forward to some online orders arriving.
Dreading:
Nothing. Just staying hunkered down.
Hit:
The gladiolus bulbs I bought at Walmart before this all went down. I had picked up about three bags and they really took off! I cannot wait until they bloom.
Miss:
Michigan Bulb Company- still. I ended up cancelling my order and they did refund me, which is good. Still bummed about not being able to plant. But it is for the best. Too hot and no rain right now.
Low:
The virus. My heart breaks for those who have been affected by this. The loss of life. The cancelled weddings. The isolated funerals and births. Everything is topsy turvy. I miss my students.
High:
Hopefully good can come out of this. Hopefully we can use this as a paradigm shift in society to refocus on what truly matters. Other than Pollyanna hopes I am also happy to watch my flowers bloom. To see a Black and White Warbler, a Pileated Woodpecker, and two Cedar Wax Wings in my yard. I am thankful to be able to work from home. I am thankful that our small family is content to be holed up all together.
How are you doing?
Oh I wish I had the Comfort candle now, it's a fave. I might have a bottle of the lotion version somewhere around here...
ReplyDeleteAha? AHA! I just got those two flavors a few weeks ago, yum.
Stay well in Florida 💓<3
I had not realized just how dreamy it was!! The lotion would be a nice pre-slumber substitute. I hope they come back out with this candle soon and during a sale. I would totally stock up on it.
DeleteI am very much enjoying these bubbly drinks!! The Blueberry Pomegranate sounds good too.
Thank you! Same to you! Ready to get back on that blogging horse... I think. :-)
Beautiful consoling post. I am fine up in Cambridge but miss the southern spring. The Texas bluebonnets are blooming around now. But I love the hyacinths cand cherry blossoms here.
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing Persian Garden on the "work" days, and Marshmallow Scatter on the weekends. I am trying to create rhythm and routine. I am alternating between small joys and vast griefs. Oh my...
I am so glad you are well! I bet the fields of bluebonnets look lovely. I would love to see those one day. The cherry blossoms are beautiful. I am so happy I got to see some last year in Washington D.C.
DeleteI love that you are using fragrance for comfort. I enjoy that as well. Rhythm and routine give me solace too. I hope you encounter more and more joys and less and less grief. <3 Much love and good health to you!
I am also burning Comfort quite frequently, tag teaming with Warmth :) This month has been very busy work-wise--I already work from home so that part hasn't changed much, but a major biz trade show was cancelled so we rescheduled most of our meetings online, which meant that I still had to get dressed (in a nice top, leggings below!), put on makeup, etc. Things are calming down now, but nervous about the next few months.
ReplyDeleteFrustratingly I haven't been able to read much at all due to not being able to focus, so have listened to a short audiobook and many, many podcasts instead. I do love listening to the lack of noise now, especially with all the birds out and about as the weather warms up.
Hoping you and your family stay safe and well!
Isn't Comfort amazing?! Warmth... don't think I sniffed that one. I will see if I can track one down. Glad you are able to keep working. It breaks my heart how many people are losing jobs. I totally feel you on the makeup above but leggings below work attire. That is totally me for school. I am sure the kiddos wouldn't mind if I didn't wear makeup but I think I do it more out of routine and needing to feel like I am "at work." I hope you are able to find some peace and calm soon. Maybe since work will slow down a bit?
DeleteI have two sisters that are loving podcasts lately. That is something I would like to explore more of. Right now Lincoln in the Bardo is capturing my attention. And I will probably keep reading about herbs too. I bet there are some great herbology podcasts. The quiet is so nice. I went for a walk in the neighborhood and noticed how few airplanes were in the sky. Here in Orlando they are a regular thing usually. The birdsong is so sweet to the soul. Savanna and I have been trying to ID the ones we hear.
Thank you, Kate!! Wishing the same for you too!
