L'Occitane: Happy Birthday Collection

I am a sucker for gifts with purchase. There was an item I wanted to get Adam at L'Occitane for Christmas and once they advertised gifts with purchase, I pounced.

This tidy little set came free (with a $50 purchase) and included: 2 shea butter milk soaps, almond milk hand cream, and almond oil shower gel.

Amande Shower Oil- I have used this product before and I love it. I pour it into my hands and rub all over. The scent is fresh, beautiful and clean with a hint of honey sweetness. It does lather into a milky foam and when rinsed it leaves my skin soft and hydrated. I prefer to use bar soap before using this product and then leave the shower after rinsing the shower oil off so as to keep the moisturizing benefits.

Amande Delicious Hands- Yes I am firmly seated on the L'Occitane handcreme bandwagon. I have been blessed to be gifted many little tubes that I stash everywhere. I am a handcreme gal. This is the same scent as the shower oil. Mildly perfumed honey. My hands feel soft and moisturized without a greasy film after use. A pea sized amount is plenty, so these tubes last me a while.

L'Occitane Extra-Gentle Soap (with Shea Butter)- This soap was surprisingly soft. I have no way to describe it other than it felt like a was bathing with bubbling milk. I have never realized the touch of harshness of the soaps I have used until it was missing. Very strange. The scent is innocuous, neither something I crave but not bothersome. Just clean. I enjoy this new bathing experience. I will still purchase other handcrafted soaps, but this is different for sure.

Have you succumbed to any gifts with purchase offers? Do you have any L'Occitane favorites?

  1. I would like to try the soap, especially to possible give my mother, who is firmly on the Dove bandwagon although has lots of issues in the winter. I have tried their hand cream also, it is nice.

Deb has a great L'Occitane story by the way, if you haven't read it.

    1. I will save the extra one for you! The most I use it, the more I am appreciating the formula. I will be getting more for sure.

Thanks for sharing!! That is a great story! Way to go Deb! She has me itching to smell their verbena now. We have an outlet in Orlando we visit from time to time that has L'Occitane. I need to smell it there.

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving Jean <3

    2. Jean beat me to it but that's okay. Yeah, as soon as I saw L'Occitane in this post title I was super curious. Like I said in my old post, we don't have fancy things like this in my area.

    3. I seriously need to go through and read your blog like a book. I have read most of your wax posts but now I need to read all the rest. Leave no page unturned. Glad to know you are still open to L'Occitane... Birthday is not too far away! ;-) SPOILERS

    4. Thanks Julie. :) We went to some of my mom's friends from her church and it was a lot of fun.

Deb has some good ones over the years. My favorite is Minion coming back from the vet. Always makes me laugh!

    5. That post is too cute! Poor baby Minion!

I was laughing out loud reading one of her very first posts talking about something "sucking big donkey balls" I had to wipe tears away.

  2. Gifts with purchase for the win! Almond hand cream and shower oil!? Sign me up. Love the way almond smells! Their packaging is so pretty, but their prices have definitely made me step back. Isn't it funny that we (read: me, lol) will spend hundreds on wax but grimace at the thought of anything over $20-$30 for a body product?! Sephora is one place I always tend to order from around my birthday to get the free gift, which is never anything I ever want or need. :P

    1. Lol!!! Yes! I am weird that way sometimes too. Big money on wax? Sure! $22 for a Fresh Sugar lip balm? No way. (Though I did love the free ones Sephora gave away two years ago!). Speaking of Sephora free birthday gifts... I got mine! Woohoo!

L'Occitane is not something I have ever out and out bought for myself. Adam gets shave stuff from there (and I snap up the freebies) and I did buy others some this year as gifts. I think I am ready to just bite the bullet and go to the outlet one day.
