Thanksgiving Recap

Am I the only one who makes this huge of a mess while cooking?

My husband's only request. A pumpkin pie.

The morning was crisp and beautiful at the park for the family reunion.

We always form a circle and count off how many attended (136 this year), make announcements of deaths and births over the year, then say blessing and the Pledge.

Home Sweet Home for the Thanksgiving feast. It was smaller this year, only a dozen of us gathered for dinner, but it was peaceful and enjoyed.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  2. You asked, "Am I the only one who makes this huge of a mess while cooking?" No ma'am, you are not! LOL! You shoulda seen our kitchen the other day! But, that just means you're doing an excellent/right job. :)

Love that Adam requests pumpkin pie! Mmmmm, yours looks especially creamy. Do you do anything special to it? Your plate looks drool worthy. It is so cool that your whole extended family can gather for that wonderful day of thanks and come together and share. What a cool tradition! The girls looks so, so grown up in these photos. <3

    1. Whew! Cuz flour/sugar/whatever ends up everywhere. Splatters from the mixer on the walls and who knows what dropping on the floor.

I use an old Southern Living pumpkin pie recipe. It works nicely.

I am so very thankful that even though my mom and dad are long long ago separated that they still get along well. That we can all eat Thanksgiving together as one big family instead of divided.

My girls. They really are. I see it a lot in Savanna. She is looking like a grown young lady. Almost 8. Where does the time go?
