Warmed Wax: Glitterati, Sniff My Tarts & Forstbeard

Glitterati Pomegranate Cider & Cranberry Marmalade let off a burst of bright fruits and light spices on cold, while warmed it was still just as perky and pleasant but a tad light. I would say a medium light throw. I had to do some bowl wafting to get a feel for the scent. Not a repurchase.

Sniff My Tarts Cranberry Chutney/Cranberry Spice another light thrower and the cranberries in this blend are not for me. I have discovered I have very specific cranberry needs. This version is too candylike. I enjoy a tart, ruby red, and spicy cranberry. Or if not spicy then paired with zingy citrus. Not a repurchase.

Frostbeard Dumbledore's Office was a beast. It threw strong in my bedroom and let off a most unique scent. It reminded me of an old library, book pages, polished wood, and a slight tone of mustiness. I really enjoyed it! Repurchase. I was sad to learn that Frostbeard's Potter name use has come to an end. Some will be discontinued and others will be renamed. Dumbledore's Office is now Headmaster's Office. Most will involve the word "wizard."

  1. I have Glitterati's Cranberry Marmalade going right now and it's pretty nice. Could be a bit spicier, but it's throwing pretty strong. I've enjoyed those Glitterati chunks you shared with me. I'm always surprised when I get good throw from them. Not sure why. lol

    1. My living room/kitchen area is so open that it really is an unfair disadvantage to some tarts with their throw, but I do get some killer string scents that do well in there and it us the only space I have other than my bedroom and bathroom to judge melts in. Glad it is working for you!! I should have sent you the whole chunk! Glitterati does melt strong for me the majority of the time. Just not this one for some reason. :-/

I hope you have a fabulous football Sunday!!!

  2. Like Deb, I also recently enjoyed a Glitterati cranberry blend. (cranberry marmalade as a matter of fact) but I do see what you're saying about candy like sweet. I'm the same way with pomegranate. --which reminds me of a very fond scent memory. The BEST pomegranate scent I've ever experienced came from a pillar candle from a brand that Bed Bath & Beyond sells. It was not a gourmand pomegranate, more of a musky one.

Hooray for the excellent performing Frostbeard tart!

    1. I didn't realize how specific I was about it until I have tried multiple vendors' versions :-I

Musky pomegranate?! Oh my. I want to smell that. I was huffing tons of candles in Anthropology last night and fell in love with a Huckleberry one. I ALSO saw Victoria's Secret has candles.

  3. Hi Julie!! That Frostbeard tart sounds simply divine!! I have been steering away from bakery scents more and more lately, and Dumbledore's/Headmaster's Office seems like a scent I absolute need in my home! Did you get a plastic-y note from the clamshell at all? That's always a concern for me when ordering clams from new-to-me vendors. Sorry the other two were duds! I have had a Cranberry Spice blend from SMT before and I noted the same candied quality to it that you did. I'm really loving CFTKR's Cranberry Relish right now, I think it's the same as other vendors' Cranberry Marmalade scent - a nice tart, spiced cranberry with a hint of citrus! Yum =) Hope you had a great weekend Julie!!

    1. No but I think I may be plastic clamshell anosmic. I only ever smelled that from SuperTarts. Never TBG.

I missed CFTKR opening recently but hope to next time. I will put Cranberry Relish on my wish list. Hope you have a great weekend too Jacqui <3

  4. I would highly recommend trying a lower wattage with Glitterati. It does best for me in a light bulb warmer.

    1. Hi Jackie! Thank you! I have by and far had great luck with Glitterati throw, this was just one of the few I wasn't thrilled with. I will throw some other Glitterati in my daughters' warmers for comparison though. :-) have a splendid Thanksgiving week!

  5. Sorry the others weren't a hit, but glad to hear that Dumbledore's office was!! Aww I hate that they have to change the names of the Potter stuff, but it's probably license issues or something.

Thanks again for my waxy goodies!! :-)
