Yankee Candle: Tiny Tea Light Order

The school I work at was having a Yankee Candle fundraiser last month, and traditionally, I buy from the first student who asks me. I like to choose tea lights to place in my mercury glass lanterns during Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

For Thanksgiving I picked out Autumn Wreath, which is basically a nice lightly spiced apple scent that has the feel of potpourri.

For Christmas Eve I selected Balsam & Cedar, which gives off a pine centered fragrance.

I am looking forward to having these illuminate my lanterns and provide a festive ambiance but I will also be melting complimentary tarts too, as I just don't think these will give the fragrance I am looking to experience. They will no doubt be strong enough, I just am not digging the actual scent like I used to in the past. After over a year of vendor wax I have become very picky about the artificial smells I sometimes encounter in name brand wax. Do you notice that? Is it just me? (It might very well be!)

  1. I think I might order some scented tea lights next from Yankee. I'm over the thrill of vendor wax for now. I'm feeling like I'm going to step back and settle down, start swinging back to BH&G/Scentsationals on a much more casual level like I used to be.

    1. New candles to read about will be fun! I wish BBW did tea lights. I would have those going all the time. The wax has lost its shine for you.

  2. Oooo, i sniffed both of those on my recent trip to the Yankee candle factory... Autumn wreath was yummy, but i can't do any tree scents. They always smell super fake and way too strong to me. I wish they could capture just the whiff of a real tree mixed with the smells of the holiday.....*sigh* maybe one day... :-)

  4. Will you show us your lanterns?! Or have you shared them already? Balsam and Cedar is such a great Christmastime scent. It's nice of you to buy from the fundraiser! :)

    1. Oh yes! Great idea! My mom gives the best Christmas gifts ever. She bought them for me about 3 or 4 years ago from PotteryBarn. I will try to take pics them with my candles inside. I need to work on my low lighting photography anyway ;-)
