Today is a dual Melting Basket and Fall Fun Series post. You now know what I will be melting, now let me show you one of our traditions...

November 1st harkens the come back of our annual Thankful Tree. Each of us gets a unique color/pattern leaf and we all write one thing we are thankful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving and tape it onto the tree.

I love seeing what the girls and Adam write every year. Some things stay the same and others a new. Savanna used to write various types of dinosaurs. Pets and friends and family always appear. Toilets and doors are new this year. It is wonderful to be grateful every day of the year but to focus on it in this way is enjoyable for us too.

I am thankful for the friends I have made and people I have met through this blog and Instagram and Facebook. You guys bring a smile to my face often.

What are you thankful for right now? I hope this week is a beautiful one for you. Do you have your Thanksgiving wax or candles picked out yet? What aroma will be gracing your home? Any Thanksgiving traditions?

  1. Ooh! Could you please do a review on CFTKR Frost on the Pumpkin and TBG Victorian Midway??

I love that thankful tree! It's such a nice way to help reflect on what matters and has impacted your life in positive ways.

I'm thankful for my parents today. Not once have they shown annoyance at Michael and I constantly asking them to hook us up with certain things we need from the States (craft store items, specific shoes or work things for Michael, flamin hot limon cheetos LOL) and their Christmas decor care package just arrived today. They bought us a tree and provided us with a wonderful myriad of decorations to get us started for our first Christmas away from family. Mom even gave me very special homemade ornaments that I've grown up watching her put together.

I'm really feeling the Thanksgiving/Christmas spirit this year. It's fantastic!

    1. Will do! Just for you my friend.

Thanks! Sometimes I think that one day the girls will be too old for my hokey mom shenanigans but hey. I will ask them to do them with me anyway.

Liz. That is so sweet of your parents! You will have the happiest tree in the neighborhood. And if you ever need/want/crave anything feel free to let me know! I love making care packages. Will you show us your ornaments pretty please?

I love that you are excited! I am too! I have already been listening to Christmas music, watching some movies and dreaming of decorating once Thanksgiving is over. But looking forward to Thanksgiving too. I love to cook for it. Are you guys exchanging special gifts? What are you looking forward to making for Thanksgiving the most?

  2. I just love this idea. Warms my heart! I also love seeing your melting baskets.
I am thankful for my husband and the hard work he does. He is my best friend.

I must be super confused.. I keep thinking it is Christmas this week! ^.^ ha ha I have already been buying up gifts and getting them wrapped so that must be what is getting me in the mood.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. How sweet. I concur. Cheers to great husbands/best friends. We are blessed indeed.

LOL!!! I am guilty of listening to carols and buying gifts and feeling holly jolly as well. I tried to watch Miracle on 34th Street with my little but she was not interested.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too! <3

  3. I hadn't thought it before, but I'm also thankful for doors and toilets, especially toilets! Awesome idea, Happy Thanksgiving Johnsons<3

    1. LOL! It cracked me up when she wrote that. Then I was immediately grateful for toilets with doors to hide them as well. Happy Thanksgiving Jay! I hope it is full of laughter and hugs and comforting food. <3

  4. I love this tree idea SO MUCH! Thank you for this! <3 Going to pin it so that we can do it next year. Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. Sure! I hope you do! It is one of my favorite fall traditions. The girls crack me up with some of their answers but it is sweet too and fills my heart. Happy Thanksgiving pretty lady! I hope it is a wonderful day for you and yours. <3

  5. What a lovely tradition! My aunt has our family hold hands and share one thing we are thankful for before our meal. I usually drag it out to five or six things; I think we could really use a Thankful Tree. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
    -Angela Kay

    1. That is sweet! I would love to do something like that too with family when they come over. Thank you Angela! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving too!! I have to ask! What game will you be playing? I could use some fun game ideas :-)

  6. I love your tree! I don't have any Thanksgiving traditions in my family anymore but now that I have a child I hope to start some of our own.

Could you please review the Satin Suzie blends and the sugar & spice pumpkins in the fire blend?
