New Balance Fresh Foam sneakers cuz they feel sooooo good, Ashley Weber crystal point necklace, jeans, graphic tees and my heart on my sleeve.

Awaiting:
Finding out where we will land next. Hoping for a home that will be a cozy place to stay for the next ten years or so. Also awaiting a really cool shelf that Achy Joints Creations is making. It is coming along so well and now I just need a home to hang it in. <3

Dreading:
Having my coffee mugs or pottery break during the move.

Hit:
My record player. I miss it so much!!! I cannot wait to unpack it and listen to some more tunes. It is a Crosley off Amazon with some stand alone speakers. Another hit: The Wax & The Needle record store in Lakeland, hundreds and hundreds of $1 vinyl. A last hit, an old German Beer Garden Musik album with polka and Oktoberfest tunes. It's righteous.

Miss:
I miss my hair.
I miss having the motivation and energy to really workout.
I miss being comfortable in my skin.
I miss being able to prioritize my time better.

Low:
Fights with Adam. Tension. Uncertainty. Self-doubt.

High:
Cabin camping with my friends, Garth Brooks concert, selling our house quickly, the girls getting into a public Montessori school.

How was your April? Did it come in like a lion and go out like a lamb? Mine is still all lion. Lamb days are coming soon. I can feel it in my bones.

  1. As soon as you know an address to send your shelf to, let us know. :)
(Although we still have to figure out how to ship that big thing. lol)

April sucked for me and I don't see May getting any better. Our new work hours start on May 13, and that's going to be so many changes on so many levels. This creature of habit is feeling kinda twitchy about all that.

    1. Absolutely!!! I can't wait to find out my new address LOL!!! You know I will cover shipping so feel free to UPS it. I bet they will help you figure out packaging too. <3 Or FedEx or Kinkos or something. Whatever you have closest.

I am sorry. What work hours are you going to? You used to work 12 hour shifts right? Are you going to the 8 hour ones? Hoping the changes will end up feeling more beneficial to you once you start them. I totally understand and commiserate with feeling twitchy with change.

  2. I hope you guys find a great new home soon! Moving is way too stressful. My April was not as productive as I would have liked--weekends have been taken up with travel and events so not getting to things that need to get done.

What do you think of Deliverance Dane? I read it a couple years ago right before Halloween and thought it was entertaining and low-stakes spooky enough.

Can you recommend a good tea etailer? I'm completely bored with the teas at my natural food store and have been following Grimoire but don't understand how her shop works at all lol!

    1. Thank you, Kate!! It really is a heinous undertaking. Travel sounds fun but I do know what you mean. Chores and projects do fall to the way side when busyness takes over. I feel the same. Between job fairs and interviews and looking at houses I have done almost zero blogging. Plus zero house work plus zero cooking.

I am enjoying it right now! Only about a quarter of the way though or less but I am interested in the characters and where they go. Which is more than I can say of some of the books I have tried to read lately. I think I had more DNF books this year than ever.

How fun!!! Grimoire is fun but she got way too complicated to buy from so it has been ages since I have picked anything up from there. Some of my very favorite tea makers: Kings Road Apothecary, Dryad Tea, Lupicia, and honorable mentions that I do order from too include Riddle's Tea Shoppe and Adagio teas (it might have to do with the fandom slant though LOL!). But Kings Road is my very favorite. Britton at Blood Moon Botanica makes excellent tea blends too but she doesn't open often.

    2. OH!!! But if you are looking for a REAL treat, Many Aftel at Aftelier makes the most luxe hand crafted tea blends out there.

    3. Thank you! I just ordered a bunch of delicious-sounding samples from Dryad--the others are sold out or on a break. Did not realize that Mandy does tea :swoon:

    4. Gah! I hate when it is hard to get something you crave. At least you were able to score something. Lemme know how you like what you got!

    5. I know this is an old post but wanted to mention a new one I found in prime pantry on Amazon for $3 a box called Allegro Tea. They're organic, I have had two green teas (one with mint and one with jasmine) and herbal teas (a night time blend and another mint). All have been well flavored.

  3. Look at you burning a bright fresh scent in Island Margarita, that's a goodie, I'm sure it pairs well with your packing and clearing out. Record players are too fun, and to think when we were kids, we probably cheered the innovation of tapes and cd's into our lives only to crave the classic sounds of vinyl in this stage of life. I don't have the space or desire to collect for me, but one of my besties does, Rachael, who you know as Mrs_Sparkletoad online. We stay up all night spinning records from her growing collection when we get together a couple times a year. It's heartening for the soul and I like to buy one for her if I spy a record I know she'll like.
I saw your newest purchase in your stories the other day, kudos to that pick-up. What are some of your favorite Queen songs? Mine will always be Don't STop Me Now-on our speech bus anthem CD since day one and Somebody to Love which gets my toes tapping.
My April was a growling beast, I hope your lamb time is coming soon:)

    1. It was so nice!!!! Definitely not something I normally gravitate towards but it was bright and cheerful and motivating. My sisters totally enabled me into the record player. My stepdad had one when I was growing up that he would play from time to time but I didn't realize how much I missed it until I heard my sisters playing theirs. I love that you and Rachel have times like that to hang out and bond. <3 She seems like a really sweet person. I want to come listen. I bet she loves listening to those records you pick up for her.

YES!!!! Queen is my jam. My favorite songs are Killer Queen and Fat Bottom Girls. But honestly, I love it all. Another One Bites The Dust is my toe tapper.

April was pretty intense huh?? Hoping for halcyon days for both of us this summer. Lots of peace, trail walking, cool refreshing drinks and time spent with loved ones and out of doors.
