Arcana Wildcraft: Layering Notes of Rich Vanilla and Candy Cane

Arcana Wildcraft Layering Notes (on sale for $20 each)

Rich Vanilla- Notes: A deep, rich gourmand scent laced with French creme and dark Madagascar vanilla extract.

In the vial is housed a creamy vanilla with soft caramel and almond undertones. On the wrist this comforting vanilla has a custard texture and nuances of banana bread that melt into marzipan in the heart. This is a lovely vanilla that is beautifully constructed.

Candy Cane- Notes: Wild-harvested sweet peppermint with French vanilla extract and a hint of bright white musk.

From the glass lifts a crystal clear peppermint aroma veiled with a waft of vanilla musk. Once on the skin the vanilla musk elevates the minty candy cane. As it dries down the airy vanilla musk remains with its chilled and silvery tones. Finally, a minty candy cane without fruit notes. I cannot begin to tell you how happy this makes me.

These Arcana Layering Notes are complex enough  to wear on their own but the lasting power is slightly diminished. I get about 4 hours of wear from the note on its own. They also pair beautifully in conjunction with other scents. I love Julia's Trees Layering Note. I am very happy with these two purchases. <3

What note would you layer the most with?

  1. I'd try the vanilla...I got Golden Musk, but am letting it rest because my nose just didn't know what to think of it.

I am loving Haint..I love Arcana, but this is my first from them that is really elegant. It really does make me think of my southern aunties and magnolias and old lace, though it smells like none of these.

Oh,speaking of layering...how do you later perfume oils and EDPs? I'd like to try that :) Maybe with Haintvand Solstice Scents White Fox EDP, which I love..

    1. I picked up the Golden Musk a while back and enjoy it but I have not really gotten around to wearing it much yet. Trying to figure out what I might layer it with.

I am SO HAPPY you are enjoying Haint!! It took me a couple wears but I ended up falling hard for it. I think taking that nap in it one day really pushed me over the edge because when I woke up all warm and snuggly my body heat was sending Haint out in waves and it was gorgeous. I love that you have southern aunties that Haint brings to mind. <3

I layer various oils frequently but I do also layer oils with EDPs. I usually dab a little oil in the crooks of my arms and in the center of my chest then spray the EDP either on my wrists, in my hair, on the back of my neck or on my tummy. Depends on how strong the scent is and how I want it to float about me. I don't have White Fox from SS but it is one I have been meaning to sample. Let me know how your layering goes.

  2. Ah, thank you Julie! I think I was using too much of both before. I love switching perfume oils all the time and playing for myself, and then having that delicate cloud of a seasonal EDP waft around and linger on my clothes.Finallly balance!

    1. Mmmmmmm!!! I enjoy layering and tinkering too. Today I slathered on Solstice Scents Butter Rum Mallow oil and then sprayed Solstice Scents Pipe Tobacco in my hair.
