Indie Beautique & Poesie Perfumes Mermaid Bath Salt Collaboration

I dove into Poesie Perfumes for the first time this fall and enjoyed the wares. Poesie teased a mermaid bath salt collaboration with Indie Beautique and sent all my antennae a quiverin'. I netted two scents in a full size ($20 each) and two in a smaller trial version ($6.75 each). If you are familiar with Ajevie indie perfume decanting, they do share some business aspects so if you order and it ships from Ajevie don't be concerned. I was confused at first but messaged and received clarification on that front.

This one you may notice is already open and used. I simply could not resist. I was expecting the bags to be sealed at the top but they weren't, they were only zip top sealed. I see Tiggy at FuturePrimitive uses a flat iron to seal her bags and it would be a nice touch to have these arrived sealed too, especially for gifting, but everything was packed well at any rate.

Lien- Notes: Earthy green vetiver, musky oud, sweet ambroxan and zesty lemongrass.
Vetiver and oud in a bath salt? How could I resist? I didn't. And I am glad I went with the full size because even as amazing as it smells in the bag, once in the hot calming waters it truly blooms. It smells grassy and fresh yet smooth, deep and murky. I love the touches of musk and smoky vetiver. A serene lagoon to bathe within. The salts nourish the skin, tiny fizzy bath bombs create a little bubbling action and I did add CBD for pain relieving properties.

Mmmmmm.... a vetiver, lemongrass and moss dream.

Trina- Notes: Sea water, sacred copal and white sandalwood.
This is the one that made my eyes bug out and my heart race. A copal and sandalwood bath sounded ridiculously indulgent and I wanted to be in it. The sea water and salt keep this on the fine edge of freshness but the deep water copal resin is lurking just beneath the pitch dark mineral cave waters. This does not let me down. I love it.

These 3 ounce tubes of bath time bliss were picked up in the scents of Alice and Danai.

Alice- Notes: Golden apples, caramel, cardamom and creamy sandalwood.
This is perfect for those caramel apple lovers out there. I was on the fence with this one when browsing for my order but I am so happy I got it. It made for a lush and delicious bathing experience. I poured about a third of the vial in the tub and got great results.

Danai- Notes: Sticky dates, creamy figs and mahogany wood.
This one is an exotic and dusky scent of honeyed fruits. It really does smell of dried and candied dates. I enjoyed this one but I probably wouldn't buy it in a larger size.

This first experience with Indie Beautique was phenomenal. Fast shipping ($5), attention to detail, great branding and quality products will have me returning. I love the artwork of the mermaid and their familiars, the stories of their habitats and the well thought out notes all meld into a beautiful bathing experience. Now I truly am a Redolent Mermaid. I think my familiar would be a manatee and I would swim in the brackish waters of the inlets and inner coastal waterways of southwest Florida. My scents would be coconut, hibiscus, vanilla orchid and amber sands. What would your mermaid be?

  1. Oh my, bubbling bath salts are the greatest bathing creation, in my opinion. I got some in a goodie bag from a race years ago, and it was like the gentlest jacuzzi experience. These scents sound wonderful too. I will check them out.

Also have had positive experiences with CBD so a great combo.

    1. They are pretty incredible! The added mini bath bombs really set it apart. And the scents are so well done. You can tell a perfumer created them.

I agree! It is a nice combo of relaxing both aromatically and physically. I hope you are doing well.

  2. Wow, those look amazing!!!! Esp. the copal/sandwood - squee!!! I would love it! And having the option to add the CBD is also great. I am not sure that I could get that here in Texas (the laws are confusing).

If I was going to make a mermaid familiar - she would look like my new tattoo! Her/their scents would include Frankincense and Myrrh - I always love that combo. There would have to be some other thing there, like rosewater, I think.

    1. I am not sure about the laws either. I know Florida voted to pass it but is topical application the same thing? Not sure.

I LOVE your new tattoo. She is stunning. And your frankincense, myrrh and rosewater combination sounds amazing. I would buy that in a heartbeat. Out of curiosity... what would your familiar be?

    2. CBD is unrestricted, it comes from hemp flowers. It does overlap with the chemicals in marijuana but when taken from hemp does not also have THC, the drug part of marijuana. I have been taken it orally sometimes and it is great for insomnia or antianxiety, it works quickly!

  3. It's funny you mention a manatee familiar because we were totally going to do a Florida mermaid with a manatee friend! I still want to add her on being that I'm a Florida girl and manatees are my absolute favorite (tied with turtles).

Anyway, thank you for the in depth review! I hope it's okay that I share some of these pics on our social media? :)

    1. That would be so cool! I really hope you guys expand on the Dark Waters collection. I think it is brilliant. I am a Florida native as well and we HAVE to be represented! LOL! What area are you from? I live in central Florida but Anna Maria Island is my favorite beach. My husband and I got married there.

Thank you for an amazing product. Thank you for asking and feel free to share. <3 Looking forward to returning for more bath goodies.

Welp, now we just have to include a Florida mermaid. I was born and raised in Miami! My mermaid would definitely be Latina and would smell of sweet cortaditos, cigars, mango juice, and humid air :P She'd totally play pranks on tourists on south beach, to try to get them to gtfo.

Central Florida is aaaawesome. A lot of my friends ended up there if they didn't move out of state. I feel like it's becoming the place to go, because soflo is becoming so congested.

I'm really happy you enjoy these! I'll try to cook something up with Poesie and do a new round of mermaids sometime soon.

    3. Excellent!!! I will be crossing my fingers!! xoxo And I love the notes and vibe on your latina mermaid. She could have a hermit crab familiar nipping folks butts to get them outta there. Florida really is getting congested. But progress I suppose.

  4. How did it perform as far as pain relief goes?

    1. Hi firephly! I finally had a chance to use it this week due to sore muscles and it did help to relax them and dull the ache a bit. I am not sure how effective it would be on acute or chronic pain but it did help with some muscle soreness. I hope this helps!
