Candy Panda: January Restock

January 5th I placed a small order with Candy Panda wax. This was a restock and I was surprised, having come in well after it began, that there was still lots of nice stuff left and even some at a discounted price. I picked up one scrub and two wax tarts.

Fir Sure- Notes: Pine, cedar and musk. $12
Pine and spruce with magnification set at 100. Not much sweet going on here so not a sugared spruce, and almost a touch astringent. The flip top containers are very nice, much easier to use in the shower when accessing the product and not trying to screw a lid back on so the rest doesn't get wet while still holding a glob of scrub. I enjoy the consistency of Candy Panda scrubs, nice and dense, however not quite as dense at The Bathing Garden. Altogether, still very nice and wonderful to use.  Scrubby, a touch of lather and strong scent.

Minthogany- Notes: Peppermint, mahogany, coconut and sandalwood. $6.35

This 4.9 ounce small bundt is a scent combination that I immediately needed to smell. I love the coconut mahogany blend from Bath & Body Works and any vendor I have tried it from. It smells like a dead sexy surfer with his manly deodorant on, some SPF still clinging to his sun warmed skin after a day on the long board who just popped a piece of Orbit into his mouth and is ready for a snog. Lay it on me. The wax. The wax. Lay the wax on me.

The little cakes came in these cute brown boxes with a nice label.

Wonderful Christmastime- Notes: Peppermint and toasted marshmallow (Marshmalloween). $5.85

This four ounce cruller is a repurchase as I love Wonderful Christmastime. It is a brilliant creamy vanilla peppermint. It throws well and lifts the atmosphere.

Shipping is $10.75 so make sure to order enough to get your money's worth. Candy Panda is extending their line with a sister line called Le Botanist that features all essential oil products. I think a few may release during their next restock on February 1st at 8pm EST.

Who makes your favorite scrubs? What mint combinations blow you away?

  1. Sweet vanilla peppermint, my Christmas must-have, is my absolute favorite mint combo but I have had a to die for dark chocolate and peppermint combo in the past. Wish BHG still had that one!

I phase in and out with scrubs so I'm not experienced with a wide range of vendors. I've found I usually like The Bathing Garden's because it's not too dry and hard, not too liquidy and oily. I like the ones that are kinda creamy, kinda lathery. I have not tried Candy Panda's. I do *not* like Tree Hut brand (too oily and harsh).

    1. Did you get to melt much peppermint vanilla this past holiday? I am on a peppermint vanilla kick right now.

The Bathing Garden does have a nice consistency. I am with you on that. The oily ones are weird for me. Sometimes I am ok with them and other times they bother me. I will make sure to stay away from Tree Hut.

    2. I did melt some nice vanilla-mints over Christmas. :) It's a bummer that BHG/Scentsationals can't be counted on anymore for that combo. I'll have to double or triple up on it from Sweet Fixations this year.

    1. Hey!! I am proud of you!!! Keep strong! I have a few places I bought from in January but overall I am doing well on my low buy. <3

  3. With scrubs I am still experimenting with vendors as I am not well versed in the bath and body community. I find that I like scrubs that lather and that are less abrasive. My favorites so far have been The Bathing Garden and Candy Panda. Sure TBG can be a little rough and dry as you mentioned but nothing that adding a little water cant fix. Adding water allows you to control how much scrubby action you'd like with TBG.
I am pretty simple when it comes to mixing mint though I'm usually not one to turn a mint blend away. Vanilla and mint, mint and shaving cream. Mint and lavender and pink sugar, ect.

    1. I like that aspect of TBG scrubs too. They seem to last a touch longer for me since they are so thick. I am a three finger scoop kinda gal so I tend to grab a lot of product.

I love all those mint blends you mentioned. I think I pretty much love anything blended with mint except fruity fruits (for some reason coconut doesn't seem like much of a fruit to me LOL!). How are you doing? I have been thinking about you!

  4. I love Fir Sure in wax but would probably pass on it for a body scent for me. Glad you like it! I hadn’t heard of or tried Minthogany (cute name!) and it sounds divine! Wonderful Christmas Time is always a classic. I would love to order from CP again but I don’t enjoy their breif openings and I seem to be perpetually broke anyway. They’re always coming out with new products that catch my interest though.

I’ve been noticing your low buy is going pretty well. I’m on one too; haven’t bought vendor wax in several months, just a few Walmart clams here and there. I still barely seem to make a dent in my stash though, melting 2-3 tarts a day.🙈 Same with bath & body; I’ve only purchased BBW goodies with a gift card.

    1. It is definitely a strong pine for the body. But I am a weirdo when it comes to evergreen scents. I have been on a pine perfume kick for ages now. I cannot get enough of smelling like a Christmas tree. I honestly struggle a bit with the rush too but lately they have had a good number of things leftover after the mad rush which is when I tend to stumble in... about an hour or so later.

Thank you!!! I normally am hauling things left and right when it comes to wax but I have only made a handful of purchases so far in January (and it is pretty much over so that is good!). I bought this, some CFTKR and a Geek Fire Lab four clamshell order. Oh! And a small TDC order. So not bad for me for a low buy. If you get to running low on tarts please shoot me a message and I would be happy to send you some! I don't want to inundate you when you are trying to melt through your stash. :-)

    2. That’s so sweet! Honestly I don’t think I’ll run low for a year or two but I always enjoy smell mail. :)
