Vintage Chic Scents: December Restock

I placed one last Vintage Chic Scents order of the year in December. I was gunning for that blasted Pink Twinkling Lights and GUESS WHAT?!?!? I got some! Wheeeeee!!!!

But first up... I did pick up this bag of Fezziwig's Christmas Party. It is a blend of Blue Spruce, balsam, fir, spices and cedar. The Deluxe Blossom Bag is about 16 ounces for $19.70. It smells like a lovely evergreen Christmas scent but was sadly pretty light on throw for my tastes. I am tucking it away for later this year.

Hey! Look!

Pink Twinkling Lights in the Chantilly Shatter. I picked up two bags. The notes are pink sugar, candy canes, toasted marshmallows and vanilla bean noel. I contemplated picking up more but tried to show some restraint. On cold Pink Twinkling Lights smells of a creamy vanilla and pink sugar confection with just a whiff of icy air behind it. I love it. It threw medium-light in a large area so I think I will save these for my bedroom once I get a replacement warmer in there. There is about 8 ounces of wax for $9.90.

Finally, I chose a loaf in Mr. Sandman embeds with To Catch a Thief overpour. This Blizzard Loaf was about 15 ounces for $19.10. The rosemary mint of Sandman is quite strong and herbal. Relaxing and minty fresh. I like that To Catch a Thief has some cotton candy mint sweetness to tone down the Sandman a little. It is a nice combo that melts at about a medium throw in a large area.

I am doing well on my low buy. This and a small Beezy RTS were some of the only December wax purchases I have made. I plan on getting a few things from TDC's tenth anniversary sale in January and not much else after that unless Carol opens. Still trying to save some pennies for some other things.

Are you on a low or no buy right now? What would you break it for?

  1. Dessa's has an opening coming up and the new scents she listed (all but one anyway) have me considering an order. I was also looking at the Rosegirls site the other day, considering some mini melters, but have not ordered yet. I shouldn't be buying because of our barn related debt but I'm also finding I'm just not very interested these days either so it's easy to not buy. lol

    1. Dessa is one that can reel me in sometimes. But I still have plenty of hers left over from my annual fall splurge. It has been a while since I bought form Rosegirls. And it has been a while since you have been in the store hasn't it? Have you been since they moved locations? It is much much easier to resist the siren call of wax when that fancy has passed.

    2. Nope, I haven't yet been to their new store location. That was actually one of the things I was considering for my 2018 Bucket List. If I ever get there again, do you think you'll want some?

    3. Heck yes! I would love some! Plus she carries those Candy Panda scrubs I like too. I will be happy to shop along with you!

  2. Yes. A no buy/low buy for sure is what I need. I need to just enjoy and use what I have before buying up anymore. I'm sure something will grab my attention that I'll let myself have but for the time being I am trying to be strong and just say no. I was wanting more of a scent from ST and was tempted to make an order so what I did was go to my ST box and had myself sit and organize it to force myself to see what all I had and what all I needed to get through first. That kept me from ordering and actually was a fun way to "shop" through my stash. It inspired me for future post.

    1. I love shopping my stash too! It does make for an easy way to smell and and fiddle and enjoy the scents you have while taking the edge of "needing" more. I have been pawing through my stuff pretty frequently the past few weeks getting some swaps and such ready. I cannot wait to read that post! xoxo

  3. I put myself on a real low buy for wax, b&b til I work through more. There are still a ton of vendors I want to try and others I will definitely stay loyal to, but trying to just buy the "must- haves".

    1. I am joining you in that endeavor! I need to make room under my sink and in my wax drawers but mostly I have other things I need/want to save for. It is hard to branch out once you find what works for you sometimes. I have been like that for a while. There are a few ones I get curious about but by and large I like my tried and true vendors. Who are yours?

    2. The Bathing Garden, Bonjour Wax Co. and Handmade in Florida are my top wax vendors so far.
I know! So much else out there to buy and save up for. Sometimes I get so into my wax, b&b, perfume restocks/preorders, I put blinders on and am not focusing on the big picture. Lol I think I do okay. Lol But, here's to a bit more restraint! ;)

  4. Ok, I need to thank you so much for sending me a bit of your Mr. Sandman/To Catch a Thief! It's freaking divine and now I need to push for VCS to pour it again, so I can stock up.
You know, it reminds me quite a bit of Handmade in Florida's Sweet Serenity wax scent, even though the scent descriptions are different. Ah, those scents are pure magical heaven for me.

  5. Exactly! Those scents could be a constant and I don't think I could tire of them. So refreshing, relaxing and soothing.
Thanks, I hope your weekend has some fun, relaxation and enjoyment. ;)
It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow, but we never really do anything much.. never have anyone to watch the babies for us. We may go out to eat somewhere kid friendly and bring them along, but we'll see when tomorrow comes. ;) Either way, we'll have a nice day.
