Wick & Fable: Rowan Candle

I brought this candle with me to North Carolina and burned it in our bedroom. It was one of a few I bought from Wick & Fable a while back. I would normally link to the shop as I usually do but Wick & Fable is currently closed to revamp their offerings. I believe they decided to amp up their subscription box game and make it more of a true subscription box rather than the order one-at-a-time that they used to offer. I am guessing candles will still be on offer to purchase as that is in their name. Either way. I wanted to tell you about this particular one.

Rowan- Notes: Frosted pine, icy snow and spearmint.

This 8 ounce candle threw strong in the bedroom and burned perfectly. The fresh cut scent of resinous pine trees and cool sweet mint is paired in a creamy cool cabin-esque aroma. I love it. And I burned it all. When they open back up I will be adding this one to a cart quickly.

Are you loving any candles lately? I have a ton of Sihaya & Company candles to share as I burn them too.

  1. We haven't burned any candles for a while now. Most of our candle action comes in fall and winter, and since fall is creeping up on us I'll have to dig through our stash to see what pumpkiny goodness might be left, or will need restocking. :)

This one sounds nice but I'm often leery of spearmint. I love it in gum and candy but have found I don't really like it in wax.

    1. Definitely treat yourself to a new fall candle or two. You have to. The Fall Slut will need it. I just ordered a handful of fall scents from Sihaya & Company last night to prepare for fall.

I understand that. I am grossed out by wintergreen in candles and wax. Eew. But spearmint and peppermint are forever loves. I just love minty pine. It is so blissful.

  2. I haven't burned any candles, but I did try one on a candle warmer base for the first time the other week. That didn't work so well.
My candle was smaller than the base, so maybe that was my error. It was on for quite awhile and the candle never fully liquified, so I shut it off. I'll troubleshoot at another time. :P

    1. Oh poops. Of all the hotplate candle warmers with tat dishes I have owned I don't think I have ever tried actually melting a candle like the warmer is meant for. Although I might have to with this new house. In the living room the smoke detector is hyper sensitive and it has gone off at least half a dozen times since we moved in and ai have burned candles. LOL! Are you trying not to burn due to allergies/chemicals? I hope you can figure out a way to make it work for you!

    2. I just thought I'd try it on a warmer base since I've never tried it. I also don't seem to have too much like with candle throw, now that I'm into melting wax. I have to play around more with candle placing since where I have my warmers, airflow doesn't work the same. I thought about melting down the candle that way, pouring the wax into small molds and then melting in a wax warmer for possibly better scent performance?? I've tried to freeze candles and chunk them up for melting that way, but I can never get the wax chunk to get out of the glass container and chopping at it with a knife freaks me out. lol
And dang about that noisy detector going off. At least it's doing its job! ;)

    3. YES! I hate chopping candles with a knife. I am so clumsy anyway I cut myself just chopping veggies. I am not hacking away at a frozen candle.

Yep. Having a sensitive smoke detector isn't the worst thing to have in the house! LOL!

  3. Wick & Fable is definitely on my "to try" list! And a Rowan candle?! (My son's name is Rowan.) Sounds like the perfect candle to take to the North Carolina mountains!

    1. Aw how sweet!!! You have to get Rowan then! It smells amazing too. I love that name. I had it on my list for our second girl. <3

It was an excellent choice for the mountains. I usually try to take outdoorsy/cabin scents to pump us up for adventure. If we go to the beach it is usually beach house scents that tag along. :-)
