Summer 2016 is officially here for all of us in the Northern Hemisphere! Longer days, abundant sunshine, warm weather and fun activities will hopefully keep us busy and happy during the months ahead.
This month the Band Of Bloggers will be sharing their favorite summer memory or tradition as well as the one scent or blend that we most associate with summertime.
What a great question! I have many, many things I look forward to during the summer time: hanging out with my girls all day, swimming in springs, lazing at the beach, free summer movies, reading binges, and frequent pajama days. But my most favorite thing about summer is the one week of vacation we take every year with Adam, the girls and I. Whether we spend a week at the beach or in the mountains, it is always a relaxing, exciting and sometimes adventurous time. This year will find us exploring Cleveland, Ohio and Adam's hometown, Strongsville. Some highlights on our agenda include: West Side Market, Amish country, lunch and Indigo Perfumery and maybe a candle store with Jacqui, Metroparks, and maybe a few other spots. We are mainly going to be with Adam's grandparents, aunts, and uncles, also his brother and sister-in-law are driving over from St. Louis to visit as well. We don't get to see Nick and Sarah often so that will be great. I love using Pinterest to search out places to eat and see before going on vacation.
For scents... I must say that I enjoy a good suntan lotion/coconut/beach scent for summer time. The sad part is that I don't often buy those or I don't get them in time for summer. I did buy a couple from The Bathing Garden this year, namely Pink Sands and Beach Bum which are fabulous, but I won't get them until late July or maybe even August, since I waited so long to order them. But no worries. I certainly have enough wax to get me through the summer. With me being home so much I actually tend to melt much more during the summer as I change out my warmer at least once or twice a day.
SO what say you? What are some of your favorite summer traditions and scents? Do tell!

Beach scents are the best!! TBG makes some awesome suntan/beach/salty/fruity scents for summertime. I agree about changing out wax more in the summer, I seem to do that, too! Love your summer associations, you've truly painted a picture of summer. <3 Have fun on your awesome trip!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree!! I love for my home to smell like a beach house! I really need to step up my beach house scent game. I JUST got my CNS from Shannon so I will have my beachy scents way sooner than I thought! Huzzah!
DeleteMaybe it is because in the fall and winter we like burning our candles too. At least we are melting through our stashes.
Thank you! I am so excited! Less than a week to go!
You melt more in summer, and I melt less. You change your wax out more often during the day in summer, and I sometimes don't melt a thing on summer days.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Ohio! Hope you share lots of pics!

You love your fall and winter melting. I do too but I enjoy a robust candle during that time too. Mainly it is just because I am home all day during the summer. It gives me a chance to melt through my stash.
DeleteThank you! I plan on blogging it for sure! Not that Cleveland is a huge vacation destination or anything but I am stoked to go and I love to see and experience other destinations.
Wow, it sounds like you will be having a fun & busy time in Cleveland! I can't wait to follow along on your instagram, I am sure the food will be amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt will be busy for sure. I will be taking lots of photos and blogging about it. The food is definitely going to be the high point. Always the food!! <3
DeleteI'm craving the beach something fierce this year. I may have to splurge on a new swimsuit, as the last time I wore one I was much less.... let's just call it volumptuous LOL! We definitely want to take a trip down to Busan some time and enjoy the festivities and down there. That and Jeju island.
ReplyDeleteI seriously need to get myself an Instagram account and start following you and all the other lovely instagrammers you mention on your blog. :) I hope you take lots of food pics, craptalkers be darned!
I hope you get to go to the beach! And take pics please! I have never seen a Korean beach.
DeleteIf you ever join IG please friend me so I can find you! There are tons of wax vendors and such on there. I enjoy following non-wax accounts too: silver smithed jewelry, fungus, bath and body vendors, bookstagram accounts, soapers, perfumers and more.
I will take lots of food pics and travel pics for sure!
