The Little Green Bean

Jay over at The Candle Enthusiast showed me these adorable little fellas a little while back and I fell in love pretty hard. Missy is the creative and crafty lady behind The Little Green Bean. She makes banners, pillows, wood crafts and of course, these gnomes. There is a monthly subscription service as well.

I would have bought every stinking one if I had my druthers. Thankfully, my druthers were left at the dry cleaners so I only bought three. Plus a mushroom. One of the gnomes was of the legless variety in a festive red scheme. The felted gnomes run about $28. The mushroom was about $15 and comes on a cross-section of wood with moss and buttons as dots.

These sweater clad ZZ Top gnomes were between $36 and $44 each (the solid one was on sale). I did have a 10% discount code that was given to me once I had some in my cart and then navigated away. I gladly used it and checked out not long after.

Everything was packed perfectly and came in a timely manner. I scrunched up the stripped sweater gnome's beard. I just need to name them now. I might have the girls help me.

I did spruce up a pine cone to add to the bookshelf decor.

I am thrilled with the way my bookshelf turned out this Christmas season. And now with our new friends hanging about I have even more reason to stand and gaze at the books and their whimsical home and company.

Any name recommendations for my fellas?

  1. I love these guys! Will Dumbledore and Gandalf (and their short nameless friend) be out year round? Or only make their magical appearance during the Christmas season?

    1. For some reason I was avoiding calling them Dumbledore and Gandalf but why would I do that?! Utter nonsense. Thank you Deb for returning me to my true geeky roots. Gandalf will be the grey-green fella and Dumbledore gets the stripes since, well, Dumbledore has style. The short leg less (Leg-o-less) one shall be Tom for Tom Bombadill. They were intended for seasonal display but there is no way I will have the heart to pack them up. I might move them to my corner shelving.

  2. So adorable and very well made! I don't know why, but the striped hat one in particular remind me of Rob Zombie- whom I love dearly. lol

  3. These sweet lil fellas definitely deserve prominent perches. Beautiful set-up, Julie, the mushroom adds the perfect whimsical touch. I saw Missy's crafting video and initially thought they were oddly sized, but nope, a perfect scale to gnomie. Oh and here's a useful tidbit, their caps are somewhat fireproof which I learned when I rescued my Gandalf guy from a 3 wick flame that he somehow ended up facedown on top of the other day. Yikes I caught it just in time!

    1. I had no idea she had videos! I will have to watch some. I love the mushroom so much! It is adorable.

Fireproof?!?! Oh no! Poor Gandalf took a tip huh? Glad he survived!! I normally have candles up on that shelf but the Noel sign is bright enough I won’t need any. They should be safe for now. <3
