Scumugs Pottery

New plant (meet Gimli!) and a new pot in the family. I follow Rising Tides jewelry on IG (and yes you will probably see a haul from there in the future, she has a crystal and crescent moon ring I am drooling over) and the maker, Cherry, showcased a Scumug pot on one of her InstaStories. InstaLove. I headed on over to Scumugs and found this pot and brought it home to live.

It has little drainage hole that will flow into the lower lip of the planter. The glaze is stunning. A dusty aqua merges with onxy while a speckled ivory banner pronounces "R.I.P." and drips with a silvery glaze on the edges like so many tears shed for the ghosts of plants past. The pot runs $32 which is quite reasonable for my tastes and shipped safely.

Now, I am hoping the label is not a self-fulfilling prophesy because Toddles is awful interested in Gimli.

Scumugs is having a pre-sale for these planters (there is one that pleads "Don't Die" that I just scooped up last night) right now. You can even choose your color glaze. I asked to be surprised.

Between tongue-in-cheek planters, mushrooms, gnomes and fluffy cypress plants I am in hog heaven. Would you go for the R.I.P. planter or the Don't Die?

  1. How is Todd with the Christmas tree? I forget if she is a needle chewer. I usually have to watch Gato around plants.

Best wishes for the cypress in its cozy home!

I picked up a couple of eye tumblers for gifts, at $15 each they seem like a steal. 👁️

    1. She is good! She has never tried climbing it or batting the ornaments off. She does like to drink the tree water and hide/lie behind it often. I don't normally have indoor plants so I will have to keep an eye on Gimli. Thank you! Gimli needs all the best wishes he can get to survive us.

Oh fun!!! I was eyeing a few mugs but I REALLY couldn't say no to the planters. I am really enjoying the prices too. A breath of fresh air from $100 mugs.

  2. Gimli, lol, between him and Hagrid, you really have a thing for burly bearded fantastical characters. (Though, I'm not one to talk, I named my lil grey-bearded gnome Gandalf, the grey)

I totally dig this planter and it is a reasonable price. Another potter to add to the list. I checked out the goods and whoa, some hardcore stuff up there! Not all my style but a few mugs made me laugh out loud. I don't know which would be a better banner for my plants, plead with it to hang on or just wish it eternal rest.

    1. I DO!!! Which is hilarious as Adam is tall, lanky and hairless and he is swoony to me. Who knows?! I just love 'em. Gandalf!!! That is one cool moniker for your gnome! I need to figure out what my gnomes names will be once they arrive. They should be coming Monday I think.

The reasonable price has me thrilled. The mugs are nicely priced too, but yes some of them are quite wild for my tame old lady self. I do like a lot of the designs though.

I couldn't decide either so I just grabbed one of each and hope for the best.

    1. Isn't it hilarious?! Now to find a plant to put in there. I love ivy and ferns. But I am wondering if my cypress dies if I should just leave it dead in the pot with R.I.P. on it? Enhance the irony?
Thank you! I saw him at IKEA months ago and had to have him. $20 I believe. They had all sizes. I think the gnomes with noses are going to be a bit hit this year. <3
