Sihaya & Company: Butterbeer Candle

Christina at Sihaya & Company pours beautifully blended and wonderfully scented candles. I have burned many of her creations but certainly have not touted them nearly as often as I should have. After ordering well over a dozen this past year I am currently making sure to remedy that. With fall upon us and the season of Harry Potter approaching, I present one of Christina's newest candles from the Wizarding Collection: Butterbeer.

Butterbeer- Notes: A delicious butterscotch concoction with marshmallowy foam and the slightest hint of rum. $12

Sihaya & Co. candles come in 8 ounce travel tins with a shimmer of beautiful glitter atop. The key with these candles is to keep the wicks trimmed and to burn as long as you can with the first burn. However, I will say that oftentimes I have not been able to burn for a hour or so and even though it seems like the candle will tunnel, if you keep burning at later times the heat from the tin will cause the wax to pool down into the bottom and it will level out mid-burn. I love these candles for my nightstand since they are smaller but I have been burning one in my kitchen and one in the living room too with nice results. I enjoy using the lids to snuff the candle out.

Butterbeer is a deep caramel laden dream with those sticky sweet butterscotch morsels tempered by that tiny hint of rum. I adore a butter rum scent and this is a tasty one. It throws strong in the kitchen. I have burned over half of it and I am seriously contemplating ordering another. It complements the spiced apple scents I have been melting in my wax tart warmer.

Of course I ordered the Pumpkin Juice candle as well and will feature it next. I also have several of the Halloween and Fall candles to discuss too.

And the Harry Potter lipbalms. Yep, she made those too.

What candles are you burning?

  1. That glitter top is gorgeous. And that scent sounds divine. Looking forward to the Pumpkin Juice one! And the lip balms!

We're still not burning any candles. I thought now that fall is rolling in we'd start again, and I lit a small Glade apple cinnamon one but I guess we're just not in a candle mood yet. Actually, I've tapered off on tart melting too. In the fall?! With all the fabulous fall scents?! What's going on here?

    1. The glitter really is something special!! And it doesn't hurt the burn of the candle at all, just adds to the glow.

WHAT?!?! Deb. Get those candles and lighters out, young lady. And your SF wax too. Time to get in the fall spirit. If I have to run out to the shed today and unload all my fall boxes, you have to join me too.

    2. HA! Maybe I'm waiting for you to catch up?! Remember, I decorated two weeks ago. :P

I do have fall spirit, tons of it, just not very on the ball with melting. I think part of it is the in-between phase weather wise. Cool enough to keep the windows closed but not cold enough for the furnace yet, so there is not much air movement to carry the scent around.

    3. LOL! Touche' my friend! I did catch up though!!! LOL!

Oh good!!! Glad to hear that!! The weather has been wonky, hasn't it?? Way to warm right now. I keep watching the Salem weather and it is still in the 80's some days. I hope a cold snap comes through. Hoping to catch some fall foliage. But it is only two weeks away. I guess anything will be better than our hot weather though... 90's with humidity is rough.

    4. I can't wait to see pics from the Salem trip. Our leaves are just starting to change around here. Hopefully you hit Salem at a colorful time!

Our weather has been sticking to the upper 70s for many days now, but there is humidity with it, which is weird.

  2. Still haven't been to the Wizarding World, so I've yet to have a Butterbeer, but I'm a little worried, because buttered rum is pretty much my least favourite scent on earth. The very worst flavour of Lifesaver! Obviously very much a personal preference, but it extends to the smell as well - such a shame, as there's so many Butterbeer candles out there, and this one is a particularly lovely one.

Did you see that Universal is doing Halloween Horror Nights stuff in the Wizarding World this year? I think they usually just use it as a holding area for guests while they set up the rest of the park on event nights, but I think they're doing scary stuff down in the Harry Potter area - Death Eaters walking about, fog-shrouded streets and eats and such. Sounds soooo awesome.

    1. Ah! Oh noooo!!! I used to love getting an almost gooey roll of Butterrum Life Savers... you know the kind where the outer 1/3 was chewy but the inside was still hard candy? Mmmmm.

I didn't notice that! My eyes only went straight to the fact that they are doing Stranger Things. We went a week or so ago and they had it decorated already and seeing the huge old style arcade games bracketing the streets was cool. Death Eaters and playing up the creepy Knockturn Alley witches and wizards would be so cool. I have not been to Halloween Horror Nights since I was in college but maybe I can talk someone into going with me. Adam won't and the girls are too young. I did see that they were doing a cool Hogwarts castle light show like they did for Christmas but for Halloween. We will definitely go and check that out. <3 Plus. Gotta do Wizarding World in the fall. <3 I will try and take pics!

  3. Yes, they were ALWAYS a little gooey around the edges, and they'd stick to your teeth the second you put them in your mouth. :) I'm a big fan of Werther's candies - you'd swear I was an 85-year-old with a pocket full of tissues and gold-wrapped Werther's. ;)

SO MUCH Stranger Things, right? A number of years ago they were all about The Walking Dead, but it's not popular like it used to be, so now they're going heavy on the Hawkins. I'd love to go - shall we aim for a date night next year, just two broads testing the limits of their hearts in haunted houses? - but I'm actually not all that down with Universal's version of Halloween. I don't mind being scared and spooked, but I don't like being grossed out, and so much of the intellectual property they draw from for their Halloween event is torture porn-type stuff, which NOPE. The Wizarding World will be so great in the Fall - pics, please!

    1. WERTHER'S!!! I love Wether's. Are you even a grandparent without the tissues and Werther's? Even if I don't end up having grandkids I will be a community grandparent with my Werther's and tissues.

I hear ya. It is excessively gross. The Wizarding World is the perfect amount of fun with light spookiness and heavy nostalgia. <3
