Iced lemongrass tea

Listening:
Old Jimmy Buffet albums when painting and cooking, relaxing Celtic music when blogging or drawing.

Reading:

Watching:
My computer screen the vast majority of my day when working, other than that not much besides the butterflies in the flower garden.

Rain. Bookstores. Coffee shops. Seeing friends. Seeing sisters. Seeing family. Summer break.

Dreading:
The thought of loved ones getting ill, especially my parents.

Hit:
My Tudor Planner for doing daily doodles.

Miss:
Trying to build a lattice trellis on the side of the house. Not very home improvement inclined I suppose. Fell back on a stick-in-the-ground trellis. Hoping it will work.

Low:
Knowing that there is so much heartbreak going on in the world right now.

High:
The stillness and family time this season has brought. And a new mattress. That is a high for sure.

How has your April been? One you will never forget, I imagine. Any good news? Any sadness you want to share the burden of bearing? How are you doing?

  1. One of the bright spots of the past month is watching and listening to the birds. We usually have many around here as it is, but with the additional quiet they're easier to see and hear. A new barn swallow couple is putting the finishing touches on their nest over my patio, which has been keeping my cat very entertained, and several hummingbirds carry out dramas around the feeder. We can hear a hawk baby shrieking from its nest in a nearby redwood tree, and many other hawks have been riding the winds just a few feet above the treetops. It's been incredible to watch.

    1. Your bird encounters have my heart fluttering. I would love to have some birds build a nest nearby that I could spy on. And swallows to boot?! How cool! I took the girls out today to spend some time outside at a park and apparently while we were gone a hummingbird visited the flower garden outside!! I have never seen a hummingbird at any home I lived in. Adam took a picture for me, he saw it from the kitchen. I think I will try to put a hummingbird feeder out. I love that you have redwoods near you. I dream of seeing redwoods and sequoias one day. I hope the bird adventures continue for you!!
