This generous sample of Handmade in Florida soap scented in Istanbul found its way to me as a gift from Jean. This company caught my eye on Facebook by sponsored posts that featured artistic soaps photographed with a keen eye. Apparently, Handmade in Florida is highly popular as their soaps sell out within minutes of stocking.
Istanbul is described as an uplifting blend of citrus with hints of fresh cucumber, jasmine, blackberry and sweet pineapple.
The notes here function to highlight blackberry in a flattering light. Sunshine sweetened plump blackberries with a floral clean backdrop.
It lathered and foamed in creamy mounds with not a hint of dryness post-rinse. It felt luxurious like a slab of hard silky butter.
What have you been cleansing with as of late? I might have to throw some elbows to snag a full bar of Handmade in Florida soon. Hey, I need to support local right? Their next sale is May 16th at 4 pm EST.
what beautiful soap!!
ReplyDeleteI'm always intrigued by scents people name after places in the world... I wish Istanbuls airport had smelled like this... lol. Although the blues are spot on if in reference to the Blue Mosque. :)
I bet that blue is in reference to the tiles, good call world traveler!
DeleteLol @ airport comment! Locale themed scents attract me too. The cobalt blue is gorgeous. I would loved to have seen those blue tiles.
DeleteThank you Jean <3

Those gorgeous swirls! Cucumber and jasmine sounds refreshingly pretty together. Lovely gift!
ReplyDeleteThe combo of cucumber and jasmine is lovely in this soap. Normally I shy away from cucumber but this one lacked that sticky aquatic aloe vibe I usually abhor. The gift was very appreciated!
DeleteIt' s gorgeous! I can't believe a soap can have such gorgeous colors! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am awed at the craftsmanship that soapers possess too. The artistry amazes me.
DeleteThat is beautiful soap! I think this is the company my mom told me has a cart at Downtown Disney (or whatever they're calling it now) and is connected to the Lush-alike store Basin in some way. I've always liked the Basin stuff--their sandalwood & patch soap is one of my faves.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best news ever. I love Basin too. Have you seen that Downtown Disney is remodeling into Disney Springs? The girls love eating at T-Rex restaurant. Next time we go we will swing by the Marketplace and see if I can locate the soap. Thank you Kate!
