DHC Skincare Routine

DHC gets a lot of love online and I have been recommended to try it a few times in the past. DHC is a Japanese company that offers skincare (along with clothing, foods, and all sorts of things in Japan), and stands for Daigaku Honyaku Center.

Rewind to this summer while Ashley and I were checking into our Hotel Gracery in Ginza. There on the hotel desk were these beauty packets for 350 Yen. Inside the clear cello wrapper I could see a face mask,  face soap, cleansing oil, toner and beauty oil... all by DHC. Well hello! $3 for all those goodies?! Yes please. In hindsight I should have bought more.

The sheet mask was much more delicate than the ones I have been wearing as of late. The thinness made for a quicker wear time. It felt nourishing and invigorating to my skin.

The face soap came in a clear disk that lathers like lightening and with tons of bubbles. Seriously the best lathering soap I have ever used.  It is not drying at all.

The cleansing oil was interesting. It was supposed to use it with dry hands but read it too late and washed with wet hands. Ah well. I suppose it worked decently.

The toner felt  and looked like chilled water. I enjoyed using it in the morning to wake up.

The beauty oil is just like putting uncut olive oil on the face. In fact, that is exactly what prompted the founder of DHC to get into beauty was the discovery of this "exceptional" olive oil from Spain. It  does have a greasy texture while applying but somehow it fades as it gets absorbed into the skin.

I enjoyed my week long DHC experience (that is about how long these products lasted). Not sure if I am a convert yet, but I will be getting more of the face soap. And maybe the face masks. Have you tried DHC? What is your favorite product of theirs? How do you feel about wearing olive oil on your face?

  1. I love DHC! I used to use their whole routine. I haven't done it for awhile, but I loved it when I used it. I love olive oil on my face, and currently I use Argan and Baobab oils on my face. :)

    1. I can see why it has a healthy following! It was a strange sensation at first to put pure oil on my face. But I think I can get used to it.

  2. I also love DHC! I discovered this company abt ten years ago. I rub the cleansing oil onto my dry face to loosen grim and any make-up I might have on. A quick rub and rinse before washing my face. My favorite products of theirs.... the cleansing oil, cleansing foam, mild soap, all of the CoQ10 products, lip cream, facial scrub, and eyelash tonic. I also love their Hair Treatment Oil and shampoo's. Yep, I do love DHC :) With each online purchase you are able to select 4 samples which is nice. I also receive a catalog periodically with a couple samples included.

    1. So you use it as make up remover first, great idea! I will definitely have to look into these products you listed. And catalog. Must sign up for that!
