Upcoming Blog Birthday....

Hello there, friends! So this here blog is turning four next month. In the past I would have had the celebrations all planned out and would have been tucking away items here and there for a giveaway. This year is the Year of the Teacher and it has certainly been felt. I love my job, no doubt. But I have not been a full time classroom teacher in ten years so I have a few saddle sores. Time, she has run me over.

All this to say... What would you like to see for a giveaway? I know my blog has featured everything from perfumes, soaps, wax and jewelry to books, pottery, nerdy gear and candles. What would you be most interested in winning? Actual items? Gift certificates? The best candle I have ever experienced? A piece from my favorite jewelry maker? A box of wax? A few of my current favorite things?

I would love for you to leave your thoughts with me. Thank you!

  1. Hi Mairmaid :),
I love to read your blog and all the reviews and knick knacks. Im from Europe and propably will not be able to take part on the giwe away. But from my perspective I would like to see a great wax box, as your pictures and rewievs are always a pleasure to look at and read. My eyes catch especially the CTFKR (fresh picked strawberis in the form are so gorgeous) VCS and Rose girls. Keep on posting your awesome stories and pictures :). Cheers form Czech Republic, Katerina.
p.s. thanks to you I have tried the Future primitives .......

    1. Hi Katerina!!
Thank you so much! I try to make sure anyone can enter the giveaways. I don't mind sending packages overseas. I will make sure some CFTKR Fresh Picked Strawberries are included. What did you get from Tiggy at FuturePrimitive? I just love her stuff. Hope you have a great weekend!

    2. Hi Julie,
thank you for your reply. Actually I got pretty crazy with Future primitives. I have had the hair rinse and whipped soap in Sylph, then I ordered perfume oils in Sylph (pairs lovely mixed with a citrus scent), Rook and raven, Arabic nights and Dark carnival. Also got the sampler where there was Incantation which is lovely. Also got 5 wax melts, but they are gone and i dont remember their names anymore. I just need to watch out the shop in hope i get some of here strawberries range one day :). Have a lovely rest of your weekend. Katerina

    3. I love Sylph!! It is such a beautiful scent. That is the one I currently have as my hair conditioner and whipped soap in my shower. I will have to pair it with some of my citrus perfumes. Tiggy will bring out the berries this summer. She makes killer strawberry scents! You have a great week!

  2. How wonderful! Yay, Julie, congratulations, and happy blogiversary to the Redolent Mermaid. You're always so generous - this isn't terribly helpful, I know, but anything you see fit to include is a pretty nice little gift just in and of itself.

    1. Thank you! But the real congrats is to you, as your poinsettia is much older than my blog! LOL! <3 I appreciate the kind words. I think I will go with the Favorite Things again, as I suppose that is the point of the blog. Raving about some of my favorite things. By the way, I loved seeing you at the poutine (sp?) gathering and seeing your Mickey nails cradling the yummy fries and gravy and BBQ pork. I always get a kick out of seeing the painted nails out and about. I am probably weird for saying that.

    2. Ha, not weird in the slightest! I always get a kick out of it, too, because I rarely paint my nails "out and about" in the real world. It's such a bummer for people, too, they always want to see what cool thing I've supposedly done, and then I show them my bare nails and it's like, geez, what good are you for?! Weirdest, though, is that there's another poutine fest this weekend - actually a different one! It's been raining all weekend long, though, so tomorrow's planned outing may or may not happen. We - and Instagram - shall see. :)
