2019 will be a year that heralds many new adventures for me. I always love thinking about the things I would like to experience or accomplish during the year. I am going to shoot for 20 goals to achieve this year. Although I may not very well scratch them all off, it will be fun to try. Without further ado, here is my 2019 Bucket List:
- Brew some homemade fire cider tonic.
- Swim in a spring that has not been previously experienced.
- Visit an independant bookstore.
- Learn to knit.
- Bake cinnamon rolls with yeast. Yep. Yes, sir.
- Paint some new Tom's for myself.
- Tour Kennedy Space Center with the girls and Adam.
- Learn to identify seven Florida wild plants.
- Explore a new museum.
- Surprise someone with a plant.
- Leave a book somewhere randomly for a stranger to discover.
- Drink through half my tea stash.
- Get another ear piercing.
- Experience a kava bar.
- Purchase something off beat at an oddity store.
- Take the girls to see a movie at the Polk Theater.
- Plan a surprise day date with Adam.
- Have an overnight girlfriend getaway.
- Buy a Benjamin Fig (preferably after the move).
- Go vegetarian twice a week.
To celebrate the New Year I am giving away two medium flat rate boxes, one each for two randomly chosen entries. The boxes are full of wax and a few other goodies. To enter post a comment below telling me what you hope this year will hold for you. Go ahead and put it out into the world. Put it in writing. I hope that this year holds a home my family and I will love, a new community we will fit into and schools that grow our minds and hearts. I hope that 2019 holds travel opportunities and stronger bonds with my sisters and friends.
Please make sure to leave your email along with your comment. The giveaway will close January 15th and two winners will be randomly drawn and announced then.
Here's to a fabulous new year.
I hope this year will be the beginning of an amazing start for my daughter. She finished college in December even finishing her program early. I hope my husband and I can travel a little more and explore more of the beautiful country we live in (Canada). I hope good Health for my family. Seeshores@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI love these hopes and goals for the new year! I would love to visit Canada myself. Wishing all the best for your daughter!

The is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI’d like to spend less time reading about doing and making and actually do the doing and making maybe start a journal to get thoughts and ideas out of my head and onto paper. Stop worrying so much about pleasing everyone. Do better with planning- would love to take some fun trips with my husband and kiddos this year. Spend more time in the trees. karrie_coconuts @ yahoo
I love this. More time doing and more time in the trees. I feel these to my core.

This is not an entry. I love your list! I would love to get a fig tree for the house, but I fear it would be too dry here in the wintertime. Florida seems perfect, even indoors. Good luck with your list! I have not really made a list for this year, but I do hope to get my home set up and running well, stay calm in the process, and be frugal so that I can keep my finances in order. I also want to do another whole30 and get back into healthier eating. I have to get back to the gym, too, since I stopped working hard on my rehab through all of this craziness with work and the house. <3
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nancy! I hope you are settling nicely into your new beautiful home. The fig tree will definitely be a leap of faith, but I will try anyway. Please let me know when you do another reset. I would love to join you. Wishing you much health and financial wisdom.
DeleteThis may sound cliche but I'm hoping to get my butt in gear and loose some weight. I also want to be more spontaneous and step outside my comfort zone more.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

Not cliche at all. That is my goal every year but I always fall off the motivation bus. May we both stretch ourselves and experience greater health.
DeleteHappy New Year to you too!

I hope you do too. Daughters are precious and our hearts are full of them even if they don't realize it. I hope you get to see her and talk to her too.

I am going to push myself harder than ever to shed my goal of 70 lbs...I've slacked so much this past year and now since I'm starting to go through perimenopause (ugh) it's just gonna get harder to do. I also want to really start saving money for a house. Nothing big, just a little place to call my own :) krissylane6@optonline.net
ReplyDeleteYOU CAN DO IT!!! Cheering you on in your health and your saving.

I like those! Short and sweet but very powerful. Hope this year holds a new adventure for you and your kiddo.

I loved your idea of a bucket list to attempt to complete for this year. It's much better than making "resolutions" that i know i'll never keep. so in addition to my hopes for this year, here's my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteMy hopes for this year are very personal to me. because i suffer from Depression, Anxiety and PTSD; i navigate through life with allot of fear. Because i'm so afraid, i keep a wall up between me and other people. I'd love to tear down that wall. but if i'm realistic and honest with myself; that scares the crap out of me...lol. so i hope to create a door in that wall so i can invite people into my life. I hope to find a sister-girl friend to hang out with and gab on the phone with. I also hope to find a nice guy to build a relationship with, one who is honest and funny and kind hearted and easy going.
Okay, here's that bucket list...
--take a beginning pottery class (and finish it)
--find a routine i can handle for the volunteer job i have
--create and maintain a business page on FB for my business
--build up a tea stock pile
--cut my closet in half (way too many clothes)
--rejoin the book club at the Library for the Blind (i miss them)
--read 10 new-to-me authors
--write 1 short story every two weeks (figured i'd reach a little here)
--create a housekeeping routine and stick to it
--re-arrange and organize my bedroom (prayers please)

I agree. I suck at resolutions but I love aiming for a goal. I hope that you are able to create that beautiful door because I am sure you are a treasure to know. <3 Wishing you a best friend and a lover in 2019 that both last a lifetime.
DeleteI adore your bucket list!! I see a lot of myself in your list. Hoping that they all get checked off!! And if not maybe carry over into the next year. <3

I hope to travel more, and not just for work. I hope to see more things. And go outside the country! Thank you for the giveaway! Email: Lola.winifred713@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteTravel!!! Yes! I have been bitten by the travel bug too. May both of our suitcases get much use and perhaps a stamp or two on the old passport.

I hope to read more and start working out more and get healthier.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year and thanks for the chance to win!

Oh my gosh I love your list and even have some in common like learning to knit, drinking through my tea stash and getting another piercing. Also curious about fire cider tonic. I haven't completed my list yet but my main goal for 2019 is to buy less, I'm so obsessed with indie bath and body, wax and nail polish that I couldn't use everything I have. I want to travel and have experiences with my kids so that will be my main focus, hopefully! The addiction is real!
ReplyDeleteoops! mplsgemgirl@yahoo.com
DeleteHey Valerie!!! Hoping 2019 is going well for you so far. I love that we share so many commonalities. I just know we would have fun on a coffee date. So here's to less stuff and more memories! Cheers!
DeleteEntry #15
Your list is amazing, Julie!! <3
ReplyDeleteI hope I get a handle on my depression, anxiety and insomnia, lose this darn baby weight already. My health was pretty darn great before having children and I've been a pretty big mess since having them. I'm not blaming them.. haha.. I'm just not good at this motherhood, balance, making me time thing. It's hard!! :O lol I just really need to focus and get myself back on track.
I'm not entering your lovely giveaway, just commenting.
<3
Thank you!!
DeleteI pray you are able to find solace in your dark times. My heart hurts for you. If there is ever anything I can do for you please let me know. Motherhood is a challenge for sure. THe hardest job I have had to date. May 2019 bring both of us the willpower and strength to take care of ourselves, my dear friend.

Thank you, Julie!
DeleteI have been doing pretty well in the new year so far. My husband and I are striving to do better and be better. It's work, research and planning, but we do enjoy it.
I hope you've been well and your family. I gotta catch up on your newest blog post sometime today.
:) :) <3
Joining you on drinking through the tea stash, ever so much tea. One reason I'm glad RTS isn't doing the tea boxes anymore, I can't keep up with drinking it, although, the teas I'm consuming to stifle this head cold are making a small dent.
ReplyDeleteI love that your list has small goals on it like identifying wildlife, your year will be crazier than usual and it's nice to have little, everyday pleasures to focus on while major changes are occurring. Wishing you a lovely, prosperous new year xoxo
Right?! I am definitely Team Tea for 2019. I am going to drink it all up. Hope you are feeling better.
DeleteThe little things are sometimes the ones I enjoy checking off the most. I hope you have a great 2019 too, dear friend.
Entry #17
This is such a fun list! I'm inspired to make a sweet small fun list like this. Mine is so intense and there is way tooo much! A couple of favorites are - create a greenbook (like Jung's Red BooK) with the experience to match, finish that Mermaid perfume!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteHow fun Doreen!!! I will look into the Red Book. I am very much intrigued!! And you know I am right here anytime you want a nose. I love your creations and look forward to buying that bottle of Dryad soon.
Happy New Year!
Entry #18
Congrats! You won!
DeleteWhat a lovely giveaway - you're so generous. I bet there's some pretty spectacular stuff in those boxes.
ReplyDeleteOkay, but first, what on earth is fire cider tonic? Sounds delicious AND intimidating! Also, I have confidence in you - this WILL be the year you conquer those yeast cinnamon rolls, I can feel it. Pick the one non-humid Florida day of the year and best those buns! Wishing you much luck with all your 2019 goals, friend.
Thanks! The boxes are full for sure. <3
DeleteFire Cider Tonic is supposed to boost the immune system when taken regularly or extra when the onset of the cruds settle in. I bought and drank some from CBe Ceramics and it fought off an on coming cold. I am sold on it. I just want to make my own now. LOL @ the not humid day. I better get on those rolls then before summer hits in a few weeks. LOL!Happy New Year, my friend!! xoxo

My 16 year old daughter and I are hoping to begin our own bathbomb and artisan soap business. We are in the research and practice phase right now because we don't want to jump in too fast and fail. We hope to launch our business before 2020. Best wishes to all for this new year!! My email address is gshawna711@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! I wish you both massive amounts of luck and prosperity in your new endeavor! The research is very important but I know you will get it down pat.

I hope 2019 will bring personal and professional growth. Personally, I need to be more active and have an 8 mile event planned with my husband for September. Slowly starting to prepare! I also plan to read more. I love to read about the history of places I visit. It really clears my mind of things I don't need to worry about. The good and bad is that reading tends to put me to sleep! Even when I'm really into a book. Hope you and your family have a wonderful 2019! nikkiv8624@gmail
ReplyDeleteI hope both of those for you too!! I enjoy reading about the places I visit too. I hope your trip is amazing and that you are in top health for it.
DeleteHappy New Year to you too!
