Wylde Ivy: Boho Garden Part Two and Giveaway!

These perfumes were sent gratis from Wylde Ivy. All opinions are my own.

Running with Butterflies- Notes: Crushed nectarines, wild blackberries, sugared violets, star jasmine and lemon sugar. $25

Running with Butterflies is a beautiful fruity-floral that opens with candied lemon peels then falls deliciously down into juicy nectarines. Their peachy sweet aroma is made three dimensional with the addition of the tart lemons that temper the sugariness. The blackberries float lightly in the background lending a perfume of their own. These aren't dark sticky blackberries, they are diluted with the haze of plumeria and sweet pea and peony. The heart has a hint of citronella perhaps from the lemon and jasmine, and it brings some sunshine into the scent. As it dries down the blackberries become more tart with a citron hued musk. A vibrant and sunny scent that recalls butterfly nets in childhood with rays of sunshine touching cheeks, grass stains coloring knees, daisy chains as crowns and summer fruits flavoring lips.

Like Sugar and Flowers- Notes: Red raspberry, crushed strawberries, wild honeysuckle, raw sugar, pink musk and bergamot spiked white sandalwood. $25

Sparkling bergamot shines off of tiny red berries buried inside a pink sugared musk. The opening is reminiscent of Pink Sugar lightened with citrus and aldehydes. Love those top notes. The glinting effervescence fades away to sweet musky strawberries and apricot laced honeysuckle. The heart softens as it moves into a base of arid sandalwood adorned with drying oakmoss. Like Sugar and Flowers tells the story of innocence maturing into strength, youth giving way to seasons of experience and tempering. It is a beautiful scent. Sweet fruits and sugary musks falling into honeyed florals then blonde woods.

Midnight Bella- Notes: Over ripe strawberries, vanilla orchid, moonlit heliotrope, sugared violets, white amber and sugar musk. $25

Midnight Bella is a creamy orchid suspended over a sugared amber base. Crystalline berries fly from the atomizer and dance on the skin in a jubilant romp. They quickly land on creamy white and purple orchid leaves that are thick and pliant with perfume. There is a putty texture to the scent, like pollen filled custard. Murky musk and sweet amber cast a veil over the exotic flowers and wild strawberries, creating a smudged and darkened sense to the fragrance. It is a lovely scent.

  3. Such a great review! I would love to win the sampler! My favorite childhood memories were going swimming at the community pool across the street from my house. I spent many summer days and evenings at that pool and have many memories of swimming and sunning on the concrete deck.

    1. Swimming! Yes! I loved visiting the springs and the beaches when I was growing up. I try to take my girls as often as I can but we never seem to make it to the beach nearly as often as I would like.

      Good luck!! Drawing tonight. <3

    1. I never got to climb as many trees as I'd like when I was a kid, but our new home has the perfect climbing tree and I think my littlest one will take full advantage of it. However, I DO look for fairies! <3 Good luck! Drawing the winner tonight!

  5. Congratulations so much on the 5 years, Julie! <3
Boy do all these florals sound beautiful and wonderful. Barefoot in the Garden would take my vote. Lilacs and lily of the valley are up there in my top favorite floral scents- definitely stemming from childhood, flowers in my mother's garden.
My favorite childhood Summer memories are definitely playing in the backyard with my sisters. We'd play such fantastical, dreamy pretend play. I often think of those times and try to channel that wonder, innocence and imagination into my adult life and project that to my children.. I miss thinking and experiencing life free and fun like that. <3

    1. Thanks, April!!

I really enjoy the wearability of these florals. They are all so gauzy and fluttery and lovely! I think you will love Barefoot in the Garden! You were the only one who asked for it so it is definitely yours! <3

I love that you have those memories with your sisters. I am ten years older than my sisters so I was more likely babysitting them rather than playing with them. Most of my childhood play involved coloring, reading, being outside or fishing/swimming with my dad or grandpa. Like you, I am opening myself up to the wonder and magic of nature when I find myself in the woods or out hiking. <3

    2. Oh my, thank you! Gosh, that one sounded the most beautiful to me! <3
On one hand, I'm surprised no one else mentioned Barefoot in the Garden, but I do often see people mentioning their dislike for floral fragrances..
I think I had forgotten the age gap between you and your sister's. I'm sure once you all were over 18, age distance maybe faded a bit. (My husband and his only brother are 9 years apart. He's the younger one. They weren't close in the younger years, but now as men, they are able to connect more and grow their brotherhood).
My older sis and I are a year and a half apart and my younger is about 5 years younger. So, I'm glad for how close we've been able to grow up together, but it sure hurts when we all grow, leave the nest, become busy in separate lives, etc.
I love seeing the adulting adventures with your sisters you share with us. Very special. <3 <3

How awesome that you have those NC mountain memories!! We go there often for our summer vacations. Usually somewhere near Murphy, NC but this year we are headed to the Blue Ridge mountains in Ferguson, NC. Wildflowers and fireflies. Doesn't get much better than that. Good Luck! I am drawing the winner tonight!
