I Heart Wax by Audra

 These tarts were sent free from Audra for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Audra has been making wax for years and years. Her company, I Heart Wax, was a place I had previously purchased wax from in the distant past. Audra closed her doors but then this past year after a long hiatus, she emailed me to say she was opening once again. She offered some scents and here we are!

She is offering ready to ship and custom waxes in a huge variety of shapes and sizes. She mostly sent me fruity scents which I tend to be picky about so please keep that in mind when it comes to descriptions.

Chunky Tarts come three to a bag and usually weigh about 5 ounces and run $5.50. Her wax blend is a parasoy.

Tropical Sorbet- Notes of oranges, strawberries, peaches, and ripe mangoes.

A vibrant and tart blend that smells like a freshly opened bag of Tropical Skittles. 

Mini Bundt Cake melts come six to a bag and weigh about 3 ounces, they run $4.00.

Serendipity Blonde Moment- Vanilla, cherry and citrus mixed with iced cran-raspberry champagne.

A classic scent that is incredibly sweet, fruity and bubbly. The sparkling grapes feature prominently while the creamy coconut and cherry vibe of Serendipity lingers at the base. Two tarts melted with a strong throw in my kitchen.

Donut melts come six to a pack and weigh about 4 ounces, running $4.50 a pack.

Strawberry Pound Cake Type- Strawberries, fresh cream, and pound cake.

This is a strong strawberries and cream scent but it doe shave an artificial lean to it. I picked up the actual candle from Bath & Body Works that this scent is a dupe for and I felt the candle smelled the same way as well. I wouldn't say this is an exact dupe but it is a good one. Just not my cuppa tea.

I am not sure how much these circular clamshells are as they are not in her shop currently.

Watermelon Patch- Ripe, juicy watermelon on a hot summer day.

A smooth and mild watermelon with hints of cucumber and a pinch of creaminess. It is an interesting watermelon but probably not my favorite. I tend like mine more concentrated and mouth puckering. This one is watery and green.

I melted the Serendipity Blonde Moment because it was my favorite of the bunch. Like I mentioned, it threw really well! Audra's scent usually do. I am excited she is up and running and I will be certainly buying some custom scents that more align with my scent preferences in the near future. She is a great option if you are wanting to try your hand at blending or would simply like some handy RTS scents.

Some of my Rosegirls labels were turning yellow so I am taking that as my cue to stop hoarding them and start melting. I know for a fact I have had that Ooey Gooey Crackers for at least two years. Spring Break is officially on tap. We have some non-fun appointments to keep but I am planning on a beach day trip and lots of outside play for the girls. Also decorating Easter eggs and water sprinkler fun. 

I am still plucking away at my Elizabeth I novel. It is written really well, just seriously thick. Savanna and I have incorporated Mommy/Daughter reading time, where we sit side by side and read in tandem. She is reading The Secret Garden for her first Book Club meeting. She will then go to a friend's house with a few other girls who have read it, watch the movie, then have a proper tea in the girl's own secret garden (her mom is a Master Gardener and has amazing plant skills). This makes me unaccountably excited. I secretly hope to raise a bookworm.

While moseying about town earlier in January, I uncovered a few home decor treasures. The chalkboard fish was on clearance at Marshall's for $7. The girls love writing on it. Scarlette left this message most recently.

This arrangement sits on the cabinets above my sink in the kitchen. I have been on the look out for something to stick in the white wooden urn for the longest time but nothing seemed to fit until I found this seashell spray of sticks and bits at Kirkland's. I tend to find things I like for my home though when I am not really scouting.

How is your February starting out? Did you order from Candles From the Keeping Room or Rosegirls? I grabbed most of my wax budget's worth from Carol this time around. Rosegirls is currently open (YAY!) and I bought a few bags from there too but I am hoping Rosegirls stays open like Jenny plans so I can buy more from her next month. Time will tell.

Sugared Strawberry Spruce from Candles From the Keeping Room really wowed me. I was skeptical of how strawberry and spruce would meld but I should have known better than to doubt Carol's mad magic skills with her superb strawberry. The fresh realistic strawberry and out of doors evergreen paints a picture of a wild strawberry patch, the berries glowing like small red rubies, thriving in a clearing cradled by spruce trees sparkling with snow. Once I discovered the beauty of this ol' gal the bittersweet realization that it was my only one came upon me. But better to have smelt than to never have smelt at all. Right? Please say yes. Oh! Yes, this one threw strong and about 4-5 hours. Loved it. Repurchase.

Santa Claw from Candles From the Keeping Room is a tart sweet and delectable enough to even make Oogie Boogie sit up and be nice to old Sandy Claws. It reminded me of flaky pastries drizzled with honey and frosting. Actually, after reading Scorpio Races, I bet this is what November cakes smell like. Yum. There was little to no spice detected. Repurchase.

I fell in love with this book initial at Books-A-Million and knew it had to sit on my fabric cabinet next to my much loved book page wreath. Have you found any unexpected treasures while browsing the stores for gifts recently?

Only about a week or so until the fall decorations come down from the attic. The girls and I are excited to spruce up the house a bit for autumn. June 27th I placed this small custom order with iheartwax. This was my third order from Audra over the past several months. I chose 4 packs of grubbies this time around; they are $3.75 each and you can blend up to three scents of your choice per pack.

Vanilla Bean Noel/Blackberry Jam Butter Cookies/Birthday Cake- The cake and vanilla really tone down the usually loud blackberry cookie. This blend is really sweet and cakey, the blackberry is certainly present but it is more the marbled accent in the cake, rather than the main flavor. Loving it.

Serendipity/Strawberry Jam/Pink Sugar- Lauren reviewed this particular blend on her blog and it sounded so amazing and she loved it so, that I knew I needed to try it. She was dead on. This is my second time ordering this same exact blend. It is very sweet and heavy on the serendipity, but the strawberry and pink sugar transform it into a girly fun treat a yute might spritz on. Wicked fun scent.

Strawberry Raspberry Guava/Cotton Candy Guava/Watermelon Patch- Tangy, juicy, sugary watermelon burst of scent. If this was a candy I would gobble it up.... why no... that is NOT pink wax crumbles around my mouth....



Apple Butterscotch Cake/Cider Lane/Maple Sugar Candy- A repeat blend for me. It smells like Cider Lane magnified to the 10th degree. Trying to get prepared for fall y'all. 

In past orders I did receive a free sample. I did not this time. I am totally alright with that, but I did want to mention it, in case you order and assume a freebie will be in there. Freebies are nice but certainly not mandatory. I will be purchasing again from iheartwax. All three experiences have been pleasant, barring a pistachio blend I did last time. They throw well and last an average amount of time. Audra will probably be opening again for orders in the next month or so as she is wrapping up this most current opening. She posts opening announcements in her Facebook group. Her 4 pack grubby blending option is really a stellar deal if you like customs and being creative on a budget.

Good Morning! Back from a lovely vacation and diving into the normal routine. I will be editing photos from the vacation and posting them soon. My beautiful mom and sisters were there when we pulled in and gave me the best gift ever. A clean home to walk into. My cup runneth over. I *might* have had a few boxes of waxy soapy goodness waiting too.  <3

From the Mountain Box of Wax I would reorder: RG Snowflake, RG Soothing Lavender Dreams, RG Pecan Waffle Fluff Puffs, RG Cheltic Moonspice/Ooey Gooey Caramel/Marshmallow Smoothie, FP Christmas Memories these grubbies filled the cabin for two days straight... the most excellent Douglas Fir scent, FP Loopy Cream Cupcakes,  Streetman Bonfire on the Beach lovely bonfire scent that mingled well with the Bath and Body Works Winter candles I brought, Streetman Summer Lovin', Streetman Bomb Pop and Fruit Spritzer I melted both of these at the same time in separate warmers but they mingled so well I could not get a handle on which I liked best or distinguishing features. I will reorder and melt individually next time. Overall, strong fruity and bright scent. Not syrupy or cloying. Beezy Marshmallow Sugar Cookie grabbed one more in his latest restock, strong. iheartwax Vanilla Mint Flip Flops very mellow minty vanilla with a touch of coconut. Very calming and nice background scent.

The Redolent Mermaid Heads for the Mountains

The annual summer vacation is approaching. Usually our family bonds and recharges by the shore on our favorite island, but this year we are introducing our girls to the mountains. Lightening bugs, gem mining, caverns, Rock City, tubbing down the Chattahoochee and going on a Lost Sea Adventure all await us soon. Last year when I packed a couple of warmers, I underpacked on wax. Lesson learned. Here are the waxy wonders that will fragrant our little cabin:

Rosegirls- Snowflake, I need a peppermint smell on hand at all times.

Rosegirls- Soothing Lavender Dreams, and a lavender to match above statement. Last chunk!!!

Rosegirls- Pecan Waffle Fluff Puffs, mountains seem to need comfy cozy smells in my brain.

Rosegirls- Celtic Moonspice/Ooey Gooey Caramel/Marshmallow Smoothie, I need a muffin to tag along.

Rosegirls- Snow White's Honeycrisp Apple, in case some freshness is needed.

Rosegirls- Lovely Sandalwood, to complement the woods around us. Or freshen a bathroom. Plus it was a gift from a friend and is special.

That is my vacation melting box! I will report back on the ones I loved. There will be posts scheduled in case internet is spotty up yonder in the mountains. Wax from the previous basket I would absolutely repurchase include: Streetman- Summer Lovin' this scent is so smooth, soothing and lovely. It reminds me of the cashmere amber blends a bit but heavy with soft vanilla sandalwood. It is strong and long lasting. Butterfly Lane- Key Lime Pie/Sarah's Sugar Cookie why oh why do you have to be closed? Great rendition of this scent! Better Homes & Gardens- Tahitian Black Orchid strong and long lasting vanilla floral with maybe a touch of sweet pea or peony. Two Timing Tart- Seduction Medium throw and perfect for a bedroom, Rosegirls- Pink Sandalwood, Sniff My Tarts- Frost Bite/VBN/Spearmint this blend is really great, strong minty creamy vanilla with a zip of spearmint to keep it interesting. I am using this blend next opening in a sheet cake.

I hope everyone had a splendid 4th of July! Ours was very low key. I finished reading Catherine the Great yesterday, it was a good book. I certainly know more about that time of Russian history now than I did previously. Cracking the spine on World Without End in the next couple of days. It has been on my Goodreads list for far too long. What are you reading?

That last basket (#4) was a doozy! I would repurchase almost every tart in there... yikes. Here they are: RG- Snowflake and Frosted Streuselkuchen, SMT- Sweet Lavender Mallow Cake/Pink Vanilla Butter Fudge and Pink Noel/Orange Chiffon Cake this one I am excited to have coming in my March 31st order, it is really strong and the scent is the sweetest vanilla cake with orange zest accents and vanilla musk, TTT- Hot Pink Serendipity this was in her new scent shot, the throw was great and the scent was a lime rich serendipity, tropical, UTC- American Cream this one threw super strong all day long and into the night, 12 hours easy, beautiful sweet floral and musk scent, TBG- Beach Bum even after being a year old it was still pretty strong and nice, Coppertone feel, Beezy- Strip 'N Go Naked bright, strong lime and fruit punch scent, happy fruity margarita time.

Melting Basket

I have been using a melting basket recently to help me choose my scents quickly and make sure I am using my oldest scents first in some cases. This is my 3rd basket I have melted from. I have 5 warmers in my home. Only two get changed regularly, my bedroom and living room/kitchen (both are hotplates). The guest bathroom can go days without changing, as well as the girls' rooms (all 3 are bulb warmers). My wax stash is probably medium to medium small for a waxy lady. It all fits in a medium 3 drawer Sterilite organizer.

Here are the scents I will be melting in the next week and a half or so:

RG Peppermint Noel (only 2 chunks left) melted before, great strong creamy mint
